Join a Series A AI company and help build the sales team from the ground up.
UpSmith is a Series A AI company building technology for the skilled trades — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other home-services businesses.
We're at the stage where the product is proven, the market opportunity is large, and the sales organization is being built for the next phase of growth.
That creates a different kind of SDR opportunity.
You won't be joining a massive sales floor with a fixed playbook and hundreds of reps ahead of you. You'll be joining while we're building the team, refining the sales motion, expanding into the market, and creating the next generation of sales leaders at UpSmith.
The goal is not for you to stay an SDR.
We want to hire ambitious people, teach them how to prospect, qualify, run strong business conversations, and consistently create pipeline — then develop the best performers into closing sales roles.
If you perform, you'll have the opportunity to grow with the company as the sales organization expands.
The Opportunity
Your first responsibility is to create qualified pipeline.
You'll prospect, cold call, qualify opportunities, handle objections, and book meetings with owners and executives at leading home-services businesses.
But this role is designed to teach you much more than how to book meetings.
You'll learn:
You'll work closely with Account Executives and sales leadership so you're developing the skills required to eventually own deals yourself.
Your Career Path
We view SDR as the starting point, not the destination.
Our goal is to build future Account Executives from within the team.
Strong SDRs should be working toward the ability to: Prospect → Qualify → Discover → Demo → Negotiate → Close
Promotion won't happen simply because you've been in the role for a certain number of months. It will come from demonstrating that you can consistently create pipeline, understand our customers, run strong conversations, and take on greater responsibility.
As UpSmith grows, we expect new territories, new sales roles, and new leadership opportunities to emerge.
The people who join early and perform will be positioned to grow with the organization.
Why Join UpSmith Now
You're joining at Series A, not Series D.
The company is still early enough that individual performance matters and strong employees can have an outsized impact.
You're helping build the sales organization.
You'll have direct exposure to how messaging, territories, qualification, process, tooling, and sales strategy are developed.
You're learning to sell AI while the category is being created.
You'll develop experience selling a technology category that will shape how businesses operate for years to come.
You're selling to real business operators.
You'll speak with owners and executives running multimillion-dollar companies and learn how to sell around revenue, profitability, efficiency, and growth.
There's room to move up.
We're building the team now. We want high-performing SDRs to become the Account Executives, senior sellers, and future leaders of that organization.
How We Work
Mission First
Builders come first. Every decision runs through the mission: trades companies win, tradespeople thrive.
Speed Wins
Bias to action. Ship Monday over polished next month. Inaction is the only unforgivable mistake.
Be an Owner
See what needs doing and do it. Own your mistakes, fix them fast, share what you learned.
Choose Greatness
Hold a high rigor bar. Real businesses and real livelihoods deserve our best work.
What You'll Own
Your job isn't to create activity for activity's sake.
Your job is to create pipeline, learn how deals get closed, and develop into someone capable of closing them yourself.

UpSmith raises $10 million Series A to power the people who power America. SemperVirens leads the round as UpSmith invests in its AI profit engine for the trades DALLAS, October 5, 2026 (Newswire.com) - UpSmith, the AI profit engine for trades businesses, today announced it has raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand its platform for essential services contractors. At a time when many are debating the role of AI and data centers in society, UpSmith is committed to making blue collar builders - including electricians, plumbers, and air conditioning repair and replacement technicians - the beneficiaries of new advancements in technology. The round was led by SemperVirens, with participation from existing and new investors, including Hannah Grey Ventures, Asymmetric Capital Partners, CIV, Synetro Group, WaterStone Impact Fund anchored by Tim Tebow, Colin M. Evans at Sandwith Ventures (former head of startups and venture partnerships at OpenAI), Deason Capital Services, and OpenGov co-founder Zachary Bookman. Allison Baum Gates, General Partner at SemperVirens, and Rob Biederman, Managing Partner at Asymmetric Capital Partners, join UpSmith's board of directors. UpSmith will use the funding to expand its engineering team and distribution across the home services industry, which is the initial focus area for its technology platform. The company is also introducing an AI voice agent for inbound customer calls and a unified customer timeline bringing customer interactions and job activities into one record. Home-services businesses often accumulate thousands of open estimates, missed calls, overdue maintenance needs, expiring memberships and inactive customers. Following up on each opportunity requires time and staff that many operators do not have. UpSmith uses AI agents to identify and act on those opportunities, turning untapped customer demand into measurable results, including thousands of booked jobs and millions of dollars in revenue for contractors. "We believe AI should power the people who power America. The skilled trades are the backbone of this country, and we're building technology that solves real problems for contractors, delivers measurable results and helps their businesses grow," said Wyatt Smith, founder and CEO of UpSmith. "This funding allows us to put more powerful tools in the hands of the people who keep America running." Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Dallas, TX, UpSmith serves more than 200 home-services operators across the United States and is a certified ServiceTitan ecosystem partner. At HomeTown Services, a Texas-based, multi-trade home services company operating in 5 states, UpSmith has supported more than 5,000 completed jobs recovering unsold estimates in 2026 - helping technicians across our HVAC, plumbing, and electrical brands get back to opportunities that would otherwise have gone cold. At Five Star Home Services in Ohio, cancellations fell 34% after UpSmith was deployed. Texas-based Medley AC generated $147,000 in new revenue in three months while reducing cancellations by 25%. "We've built a reputation over decades across our brands, and a customer base to match it, but there are only so many hours in the day to act on either," said Ray Pickens, COO at HomeTown Services. "The database was always the asset - we just couldn't work it fast enough on our own. UpSmith helped us go back through that history and turn thousands of opportunities that were sitting untapped into real, booked work for our techs, instead of leaving them on the table." "The skilled trades are the backbone of the American economy, yet the technology built for these businesses has historically lagged behind the critical role they play," said Allison Baum Gates, General Partner at SemperVirens and UpSmith Board Member, who led the Series A investment. "UpSmith is delivering measurable results for contractors across the country, and its growth over the past several months shows the demand for technology that can help these businesses operate and grow." Asymmetric Capital Partners has backed UpSmith since its first institutional financing in 2022 and has invested in each round since. "We wrote UpSmith's first institutional check because Wyatt and his team are from the heart of America and understand the operational problems contractors deal with every day," said Rob Biederman, Managing Partner at Asymmetric Capital Partners. "That understanding has stayed close to the product as the company has grown. Contractors can see the impact in jobs booked, cancellations prevented and revenue recovered." The new capabilities are designed to extend the results UpSmith is already delivering across more customer interactions. Across its customers, UpSmith has helped operators book thousands of jobs, recover millions in revenue and reduce cancellations, while creating additional capacity for existing teams. With voice and a unified customer history, UpSmith is expanding the number of customer interactions where its AI agents can drive those outcomes. About UpSmith UpSmith builds AI profit engine tools for home-services businesses. Its technology platform generates business insights across all forms of operational data and uses agentic workflows to take action on behalf of contractors to answer inbound calls, respond to time-sensitive leads, book appointments, confirm visits, follow up on estimates, convert sales, and generate recurring jobs to via membership programs and customer re-marketing efforts. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Dallas, TX, UpSmith serves more than 200 home-services operators across the United States and is a certified ServiceTitan ecosystem partner.
UpSmith raises $10 million Series A to expand AI platform for Home Services. October 5, 2026 UpSmith has raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform for home-services contractors, with plans to grow its engineering team, increase distribution and launch new tools for managing customer calls and service opportunities. SemperVirens led the round, with participation from existing and new investors including Hannah Grey Ventures, Asymmetric Capital Partners, CIV, Synetro Group, WaterStone Impact Fund, Sandwith Ventures' Colin M. Evans, Deason Capital Services and OpenGov co-founder Zachary Bookman. WaterStone Impact Fund is anchored by Tim Tebow. Allison Baum Gates, general partner at SemperVirens, and Rob Biederman, managing partner at Asymmetric Capital Partners, will join UpSmith's board of directors. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Dallas, UpSmith develops AI software for contractors in industries including HVAC, plumbing and electrical services. The company currently serves more than 200 home-services operators across the United States and is a certified ServiceTitan ecosystem partner. The Series A will support UpSmith's initial focus on the home-services market, where contractors frequently have large pools of existing customer opportunities that require significant staff time to manage. These can include unsold estimates, missed calls, overdue maintenance, expiring memberships and customers who have stopped scheduling services. UpSmith uses AI agents to identify those opportunities and automate follow-up activities designed to convert them into booked jobs. Its platform can respond to leads, schedule appointments, confirm visits, follow up on estimates and support membership and customer remarketing programs. "We believe AI should power the people who power America," founder and CEO Wyatt Smith said. "The skilled trades are the backbone of this country, and we're building technology that solves real problems for contractors, delivers measurable results and helps their businesses grow." Alongside the financing, UpSmith is introducing an AI voice agent designed to handle inbound customer calls. The company is also rolling out a unified customer timeline that combines customer interactions and job activity into a single record. Those additions extend the platform beyond outbound follow-up and give contractors another way to automate customer interactions without proportionally increasing staffing. UpSmith plans to use part of the new capital to expand the engineering organization supporting those products. The company says its technology has already helped customers book thousands of jobs and recover millions of dollars in revenue. Individual customer results cited by UpSmith illustrate how the platform is being used to work existing customer databases rather than relying solely on new lead generation. HomeTown Services, a Texas-based home-services company operating HVAC, plumbing and electrical brands across five states, has used UpSmith to support more than 5,000 completed jobs from previously unsold estimates in 2026, according to UpSmith. "The database was always the asset - we just couldn't work it fast enough on our own," HomeTown Services COO Ray Pickens said. "UpSmith helped us go back through that history and turn thousands of opportunities that were sitting untapped into real, booked work for our techs." UpSmith also said cancellations at Ohio-based Five Star Home Services declined 34% after deployment of its technology. Texas-based Medley AC generated $147,000 in additional revenue over three months while reducing cancellations by 25%, according to the company. The funding positions UpSmith to pursue a larger share of the home-services software market by focusing its AI tools on revenue generation and customer retention rather than simply automating administrative tasks. SemperVirens' Gates said the company's recent growth and contractor results helped drive the investment. Asymmetric Capital Partners, meanwhile, has backed UpSmith since providing its first institutional financing in 2022 and has participated in every subsequent funding round. With the Series A, UpSmith plans to increase the number of customer interactions its AI agents can handle while expanding distribution across the home-services sector. The addition of inbound voice capabilities and consolidated customer histories is designed to give contractors a broader system for identifying, managing and converting demand already present within their customer bases.

Family Ties Air, Plumbing & Drain has partnered with UpSmith to implement AI-powered technology across its operations. The Riverside, California-based home services company will deploy UpSmith's platform as its company-wide operating system, connecting call centre staff, technicians, managers, and executives through real-time data. The system integrates with Family Ties' existing field-service management platform, adding AI capabilities without replacing current systems. Features include AI-assisted call handling, automated follow-up on estimates, cancellation recovery, and executive dashboards tracking performance metrics. "Technology is the new normal. You either adapt with it, or you're out of business," said Jeremy Prevost, owner of Family Ties. The partnership aims to enhance customer service whilst providing employees with better tools and information to improve performance across the residential HVAC, plumbing, and drainage service provider's operations throughout Southern California.
