Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and eligibility for an appropriate certification examination.
  • An associate's degree in laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Graduation from a military program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science or medical technology and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Previously qualifying as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992, with current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • One year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
  • Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  • Submission to a color-acuity screening test.
  • Certification from an acceptable agency, including ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB or HHS (HEW), where applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor test systems.
  • Perform and interpret laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
