About the job
- A bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and eligibility for an appropriate certification examination.
- An associate's degree in laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Graduation from a military program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science or medical technology and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Previously qualifying as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992, with current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- One year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
- Submission to a color-acuity screening test.
- Certification from an acceptable agency, including ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB or HHS (HEW), where applicable.
- Develop and monitor test systems.
- Perform and interpret laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
