About the Job

Requirements

  • Have 6 or more years of hands-on paid acquisition experience, with most of that experience in Google Universal App Campaigns or App Campaigns at meaningful scale.
  • Have deep, demonstrable technical knowledge of Google's campaign infrastructure, including bidding algorithms, audience signals, creative specifications, and Smart Bidding mechanics.
  • Be able to architect and own the full measurement stack, including Firebase, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Conversion APIs, and understand the purpose of each component.
  • Be fluent in lifetime value/customer acquisition cost modelling, including building models, owning assumptions, and using them to make budgeting and bidding decisions.
  • Have experience in fintech or financial services, including knowledge of acquisition compliance and trust dynamics for financial products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own Google channel strategy across Universal App Campaigns or App Campaigns, Performance Max, and Search for personal and business banking acquisition.
  • Build and maintain campaign structures for the dual-product funnel, separating signals, audiences, and bidding logic across segments.
  • Set bidding strategies, budget allocation frameworks, and creative testing cycles that reduce dependence on any single signal or format.
  • Own campaign performance end to end, from brief through launch, optimization, and reporting.
  • Architect and own the measurement stack, including Firebase and Google Analytics 4 event taxonomy, Google Tag Manager configuration, and server-side event pipelines.
  • Lead implementation and ongoing integrity of Conversion APIs and enhanced conversions to improve signal quality sent to Google.
  • Define and own attribution-model decisions, evaluating last-click, data-driven, and custom models against the actual funnel.
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure event data sent to Google is accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Build audit protocols for tracking coverage and attribution consistency, and surface gaps before they distort decisions.
  • Own the Google acquisition economic model by defining customer acquisition cost targets by product, segment, and channel variant, and setting its inputs, assumptions, and review cadence.
  • Use product retention, monetization curves, and cohort behavior to assess the lifetime value/customer acquisition cost relationship.
  • Build and iterate payback-period models that account for irregular income patterns, higher churn risk, and longer monetization timelines in emerging markets.
  • Design bidding and budget logic that reflects true lifetime value signals rather than proxy metrics, working with data science to enrich Google's Smart Bidding with offline conversion data.
  • Identify customer acquisition cost drift against lifetime value thresholds and lead diagnosis of channel mix, audience quality, creative fatigue, and product-market fit.
  • Build a channel reporting system that clearly presents performance and supports decisions.
  • Establish review cadences with clear owners, metrics, and follow-through mechanisms.
  • Translate channel performance into business terms for senior stakeholders, including the cost and sustainability of growth and factors that could change its trajectory.
  • Adapt Google acquisition strategy to emerging-market realities, including variable device penetration, low-bandwidth environments, trust barriers to financial services, and diverse language and literacy contexts.
  • Navigate Google fintech advertising constraints, including financial-services policies, verification requirements, and creative compliance.
  • Bring insight into acquisition patterns that distinguish sustainable fintech growth from subsidized growth in markets such as Nigeria.
  • Complete a full audit of existing Google campaign structure, tracking integrity, and attribution model within the first 90 days, and deliver a written assessment and prioritized improvement plan.
  • Identify measurement-stack gaps and begin remediation with engineering within the first 90 days.
  • Build an LTV/CAC baseline model with documented assumptions and review it with Growth and Finance within the first 90 days.
  • Establish a governance cadence within the first 90 days, including a weekly performance review with a clear owner, metrics, and follow-through log.
  • Build a reliable, scalable Google growth channel with predictable customer acquisition cost across personal and business banking segments.
  • Improve signal quality through higher match rates, cleaner conversion data, and reduced reliance on last-click proxies.
  • Validate the attribution model against cohort data and use it in budget-allocation decisions.
  • Document and institutionalize the campaign architecture, bidding logic, audience strategy, and economic model.
  • Build a team or foundations for one, with clear ownership and development paths and no single point of failure.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing annual budgets larger than USD 10 million.
  • Experience running Google acquisition in Sub-Saharan Africa or comparable emerging markets; Nigeria experience is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with server-side Conversion APIs, offline conversion imports, and enhanced conversions to improve signal quality in cookieless or app-first environments.
  • Experience working with data science or analytics teams to build custom bidding signals and offline lifetime value imports into Google's systems.
  • Prior experience with dual-product or dual-segment acquisition, such as consumer and small-business or business segments, using separate funnel logic.
