- A current North Carolina registered nurse license or registered nurse multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact is required.
- At least one year of previous leadership experience is required.
- A minimum of five years of emergency department experience is required.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills are required, with the ability to prioritize accurately and quickly.
- High proficiency in emergency nursing clinical skills is required.
- Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and willingness to adapt to a changing work environment are required.
- The ability to identify appropriate staffing, supply, maintenance, and equipment needs and adjust as necessary within budgetary guidelines is required.
- Assist and mentor others to facilitate patient and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain clinical and professional evidence-based competency levels for age-specific populations.

- Certification in the specialty area is preferred.
