- Has previous veterinary technician experience and a well-rounded technical skillset.
- Is comfortable handling routine technician responsibilities with increasing independence.
- Has experience with surgery, emergency abdominal surgeries, anesthesia, dentistry, and hospitalized patient care.
- Is able to work Saturdays as part of the regular schedule.
- New Jersey Certified Veterinary Technician certification is welcomed but not required.
- Perform venipuncture and blood collection.
- Place intravenous catheters.
- Restrain and handle patients.
- Administer medications.
- Collect and process laboratory samples.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Prepare for and assist with surgery, including surgical preparation and anesthesia monitoring for emergency abdominal surgery.
- Perform dental procedures and provide dental patient care.
- Provide treatments and nursing care for hospitalized patients.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns to the medical team.
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication with clients.
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and veterinary assistants.
- Experience with surgery, emergency abdominal surgeries, anesthesia, dentistry, and hospitalized patient care.
- New Jersey Certified Veterinary Technician certification.
