BrainEffect designs nutritional supplements and functional foods to support mental and physical performance. Its products use science-backed formulations with natural ingredients across vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, probiotics, collagen, and proteins, with core items like FOCUS, SLEEP, and DAILY GUT that target sleep, gut health, focus, energy, and recovery. The brand sells online and through a broad retail network of 2,500+ stores including dm, Budni, and Amazon, and remains independently led by founder Fabian Foelsch after Schwabe Group’s investment and a two-thirds stake, combining Schwabe’s research capabilities with BrainEffect’s digital reach. The goal is to expand internationally with reliable, natural products that help people optimize mental performance and well-being in daily life and sports.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • March 2025 majority acquisition gives BrainEffect deeper capital, distribution, and research resources.
  • 2026 hiring for CMO and influencer roles signals active growth in DACH and France.
  • Existing jobs pages and B2B pages show ongoing expansion, not distress-driven retrenchment.

What critics are saying

  • Schwabe plans a full takeover, risking founder control and BrainEffect's independent culture.
  • Supplement brands face brutal commoditization; Amazon and dm squeeze pricing, margins, and loyalty.
  • Tighter EU health-claim scrutiny can cripple marketing and force reformulations within months.

What makes Brain Effect unique

  • Fabian Foelsch built BrainEffect around sleep, focus, and gut-health formulations since 2016.
  • Schwabe Group owns two-thirds since March 17, 2025, adding pharma-grade credibility.
  • BrainEffect combines DTC e-commerce with 2,500 retail locations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France.
