About the Job

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience in analog bench validation and characterization.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuit fundamentals, including DC power consumption, gain, settling time, temperature coefficients, and digital-to-analog converter and analog-to-digital converter integral and differential nonlinearity.
  • Experience in silicon validation of analog blocks such as bandgap references, temperature sensors, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, low-dropout regulators, and input/output circuits.
  • Proficiency in bench automation techniques and tools such as MATLAB, Python, and LabVIEW.
  • Hands-on experience debugging bench setups and developing instrument drivers.
  • Ability to interpret datasheets, prepare comprehensive test plans, and characterize devices across process, voltage, and temperature corners.
  • Strong working knowledge of laboratory instruments including power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Familiarity with automated data processing, plotting, and printed circuit board design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product definition and design teams prior to silicon availability to thoroughly understand validation requirements covering device-level, system-level, and compliance specifications for Automotive Ethernet products.
  • Define and own the validation plan and schedule, ensuring comprehensive coverage across all use cases and corner conditions.
  • Develop efficient, reusable test methods and automation frameworks for validation setups.
  • Design and implement test hardware and automated test solutions using National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, and Visual Basic for Applications.
  • Lead the development of scalable validation boards that meet stringent signal- and power-integrity requirements.
  • Perform parametric data collection across process, voltage, and temperature corners using automation to execute the full validation plan.
  • Drive reviews with extended teams for validation boards, test results, and debugging activities, collaborating closely with cross-functional groups.
  • Work with Systems, Applications, Test Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality teams to support system-on-chip and intellectual-property issue debugging, root-cause analysis, and solution identification.
  • Analyze correlation between laboratory evaluation results and automated test equipment results, and work closely with test engineers to ensure comprehensive and accurate product validation.
  • Create validation plans based on product specifications and track progress through completion.
  • Develop validation boards and automated integrated-circuit characterization programs for the product.
  • Debug post-silicon test failures using systematic root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure all instrumentation, scripting, and boards are prepared prior to silicon arrival on the bench.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience validating digital intellectual property such as Ethernet, Serial Gigabit Media Independent Interface, and other high-speed serial interfaces, as well as mixed-signal intellectual properties and system-on-chip input/output circuits.
  • Experience in automotive and Ethernet-based systems.

About the Company

NXP Semiconductors

Automotive semiconductors and secure embedded solutions

NXP Semiconductors designs and sells semiconductor chips for vehicles and other devices. Its products include automotive-grade microcontrollers and other ICs used in engines, infotainment, safety systems, and networked car architectures. These chips process data, run software, and enable features such as advanced driver assistance and vehicle connectivity, often with strong security and real-time performance. Unlike some peers, NXP became an independent company after Philips spun off its semiconductor unit in 2006 and later merged with Freescale in 2015, building a focused strength in automotive semiconductors and microcontrollers. This gives it a clear niche in the market and the goal of growing as a standalone leader in smarter, connected vehicles and related technologies.
