Clear Capital's Duane Andrews honored with Kurt Pfotenhauer Award

Clear Capital's Duane Andrews honored with Kurt Pfotenhauer Award. Home | Blog | Clear Capital's CEO and Co-founder, Duane Andrews, honored with MBA's Kurt Pfotenhauer Award Clear Capital's CEO and Co-founder, Duane Andrews, honored with MBA's Kurt Pfotenhauer Award. At this year's Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Annual Convention and Expo in Chicago, Clear Capital's CEO and Co-founder, Duane Andrews, was presented with the 2026 Kurt Pfotenhauer Award. Conferred annually by the Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee (MORPAC), this prestigious honor recognizes leaders in real estate finance who demonstrate exceptional dedication to legislative advocacy, strategic engagement, and policy initiatives that shape the future of housing policy nationwide. This award highlights Clear Capital's long-standing belief that building confidence in real estate decisions requires active, responsible participation in the broader industry conversation. The Kurt Pfotenhauer Award holds a deep and meaningful place in the mortgage banking community. Formerly known as the Schumacher-Bolduc Award, the MBA renamed the honor to celebrate the lasting impact of the late Kurt Pfotenhauer, a revered industry leader, former MBA executive, and former MORPAC chairman. Throughout his career, Pfotenhauer was celebrated for his ability to translate complex policy into clear, actionable goals, as well as his commitment to supporting families through the MBA Opens Doors Foundation. Duane's ongoing work with MORPAC reflects that same commitment to proactive stewardship and constructive policy dialogue. As an active member of the MORPAC Steering Committee, Duane works alongside peers across the country to broaden the mortgage industry's reach with key lawmakers. During the 2026 election cycle, Duane helped strengthen these advocacy efforts by hosting the inaugural MORPAC Leadership Retreat at his home in Lake Tahoe, bringing together decision-makers to focus on critical housing and mortgage priorities. Beyond policy discussions, Duane and Clear Capital have consistently supported the MORPAC Administrative Fund. This support helps ensure the political action committee has the operational resources necessary for rigorous compliance, donor engagement, and effective, transparent advocacy at the federal level. Since co-founding Clear Capital in 2001, Duane has led the company with a focus on solving complex real estate challenges through technology, analytics, and high-quality valuation solutions. From launching REONetwork.com in 2000 to growing Clear Capital into a national valuation and data technology provider, his focus has always remained on building tools that better serve lenders, investors, and homeowners alike. That same problem-solving mindset extends directly to industry advocacy. Housing policies impact every stage of the mortgage lifecycle, from origination to servicing and secondary markets. By helping maintain an open dialogue between private enterprise and federal policymakers, business leaders help ensure that industry legislation reflects current market realities and supports sustainable homeownership. Congratulations to Duane on a well-deserved recognition!

MORPAC presents Duane Andrews with the 2026 Kurt Pfotenhauer Award.

MORPAC presents Duane Andrews with the 2026 Kurt Pfotenhauer Award. (202) 557-2799 CHICAGO (October 13, 2026) - The Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee (MORPAC) awarded Duane Andrews, CEO and Co-founder of Clear Capital, with the 2026 Kurt Pfotenhauer Award here at MBA's 2026 Annual Convention and Expo. "Duane has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to strengthening MBA's policy influence and advancing the voice of the real estate finance industry," said Owen Lee, 2027 MBA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Success Mortgage Partners, Inc. "His leadership, generosity, and willingness to engage others in the political process have made a meaningful difference for MORPAC and MBA. We are pleased to recognize Duane with the Kurt Pfotenhauer Award and honor his continued dedication to our industry." Andrews currently serves on the MORPAC Steering Committee. During the 2026 election cycle, he demonstrated his commitment to MBA's political engagement through significant support of MBA's direct-giving program, MORPAC Direct, including hosting the inaugural Leadership Retreat at his home in Lake Tahoe. His active involvement has helped broaden MBA's reach with key policymakers and deepen the industry's voice in federal decision-making. A longstanding MORPAC contributor, Andrews has further strengthened MBA's advocacy efforts through his company's contributions to the MORPAC Administrative Fund, which provides essential resources for compliance, operations, and donor engagement - allowing MBA to run a more effective, transparent, and high-impact political program. Andrews co-founded REONetwork.com in 2000 to help REO asset managers connect more efficiently with real estate professionals. Under his leadership, Clear Capital has grown into a leader in real estate valuations, analytics, and platform services, while maintaining a strong focus on its clients and the people it serves. Andrews holds a bachelor's degree from Biola University and a Master of Business Administration in real estate finance from the University of Southern California. Andrews earned his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate while working at KPMG. Presented annually and formerly known as the Schumacher-Bolduc Award, MBA renamed its longstanding MORPAC honor the Kurt Pfotenhauer Award in recognition of Pfotenhauer's decades of leadership across MBA, RESBOG, MISMO, and MORPAC. His strategic, inspirational, and financial contributions helped elevate MORPAC into a nationally respected, top ten industry PAC. The renaming honors Pfotenhauer's enduring impact while preserving the legacy of Ernest P. Schumacher and Mark P. Bolduc, for whom the award was originally named.

Clear Capital launches AURA Risk Navigator with AI-powered appraisal review

Clear Capital has launched AURA Risk Navigator, an interactive workflow that automates appraisal review processes for lenders. The tool builds on the company's acquisition of Restb.ai earlier this year, integrating AI-powered image recognition to analyse appraisal photos and validate property conditions. The system automatically identifies which appraisals require review and prioritises findings for investigation. AURA Risk Navigator can reduce review time by 50% or more compared to manual processes, which typically take over 30 minutes and cost lenders an estimated $50 per file. The platform supports both UAD 2.6 and UAD 3.6 appraisal formats, helping lenders prepare for the upcoming UAD 3.6 standard that introduces significantly more data for review teams. The system generates proof-of-review reports documenting findings and decisions.

Clear Capital verified by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for new property data report standard

Clear Capital announced that its Universal Data Collection (UDC) solution has been verified by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to support the Uniform Property Data Report (UPDR) specifications. The company completed the verification process on 17 June 2026, ahead of the 30 June implementation deadline. The UPDR establishes a standardised format for property data delivered through the government-sponsored enterprises' value acceptance programmes. Clear Capital's UDC solution provides property data in the UPDR format and includes a proprietary Report Summary designed to help underwriters identify key information, risk indicators, and potential data deficiencies. The verification comes as the mortgage industry undergoes significant modernisation, with the Uniform Appraisal Dataset 3.6 mandate set to take effect in November.
