Requirements
  • At least one year of experience with general ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, and portable examinations is preferred.
  • Be eligible for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification.
  • Hold an associate degree or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited sonography school or sonography program.
  • Obtain American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification within six months of the hire date.
  • Successfully complete the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination before receiving the six-month certification grace period.
  • Maintain required licensure and participate in continuing education units.
  • Hold Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to departmental production requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with life safety, fire safety, hazardous waste, radiation safety, and infection control requirements.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures.
  • Participate in clinical and clerical activities.
  • Complete expected training in elastography, thyroidectomy examinations, pediatric studies including echoencephalography, hips, and spines, PVRs, TCDs, gynecological examinations, and vascular examinations including arterial and venous duplexes, dialysis grafts, extremity mappings, carotid examinations, and abdominal venous examinations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registered Vascular Technologist certification is preferred.
