What believers are saying

  • April 2026 CIB securitization showed lenders still back B.TECH’s receivables and guarantees.
  • January 2026 Myla securitization funded merchant expansion and digital financing growth.
  • March 2026 B.TECH Business and Tech Care deepen revenue beyond one-time appliance sales.

What critics are saying

  • Repeated 2026 securitizations signal dependence on short-term funding to sustain growth.
  • Jumia and other marketplaces squeeze pricing power and customer acquisition costs.
  • Consumer-credit stress can hit Myla receivables; funding freezes would choke inventory and sales.

What makes B.TECH unique

  • Egypt’s biggest omnichannel appliance retailer pairs stores, e-commerce, and consumer finance.
  • Myla gives B.TECH a licensed fintech arm with repeat securitization funding.
  • B.TECH Business extends the brand into enterprise procurement across healthcare, real estate, and banking.

B.tech and Mylo launch second securitisation bonds worth £1.76B to support fintech expansion

B.tech's financial technology subsidiary Myla has completed a second securitisation bond issuance worth EGP 1.76 billion after obtaining regulatory approvals. The issuance includes 12-month maturity tranches, with EG Bank serving as bond custodian. The funding supports Myla's expansion strategy for digital financing solutions and follows its successful first issuance. CEO Mohamed Khattab said the achievement reflects institutional confidence in the company's business model and financing portfolio quality whilst supporting plans to expand its user base and merchant partnerships. Myla is among Egypt's first consumer finance companies to receive full digital registration approval and a fintech licence from the Financial Regulatory Authority. The company offers flexible instalment plans of up to 48 months across more than 5,000 brands in over 15 categories.
