Requirements
  • Experience generating or reviewing artifacts for major engineering technical reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and IETR events.
  • Experience assessing technical requirements and Interface Control Documents.
  • Experience generating executive summaries and informational briefings for government decision makers.
  • Practical and theoretical technical or engineering knowledge in infrared and/or radio frequency sensor systems.
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, or while leading teams or tasks to solve engineering or scientific problems.
  • Ability to lead implementation of systems engineering processes to facilitate integration and transition of emerging capabilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active Department of Defense Secret clearance is required upon hire, with the ability to maintain it during employment.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, technology, or science is required.
  • A master's degree in a related field with 12 years of experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support Missile Defense Agency Future Spirals of Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communication.
  • Provide systems engineering and related program office support for the Missile Defense Agency BCDV Chief Engineer.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time to prime contractor sites, other program offices, integration sites, and applicable laboratories within the continental United States.
Desired Qualifications
  • Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility.
  • Proven writing and speaking communication skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on exploitation of infrared sensor data.
  • Familiarity with current missile threats to the continental United States and Combatant Commands.
  • Experience conducting technical reviews or writing Small Business Innovative Research proposals.
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics.
  • Experience or familiarity with Missile Defense Agency weapon systems, radars, Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communication, or Ballistic Missile Defense System Overhead Persistent Infrared Architecture.
  • Technical experience detecting or tracking objects with two-dimensional infrared sensor data.
  • Experience developing kill assessment algorithms or tools and related lethality-determination technologies.
  • Experience writing statements of work and/or engineering cost estimates.
  • Experience formulating operational concepts for missile defense applications.
  • Experience integrating elements into missile defense weapon systems, including sensor fusion, timeline analysis, engagement planning, state diagrams, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Familiarity with Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communication and/or Overhead Persistent GEOINT Architecture message sets.
  • Familiarity with assessing Technology Readiness Levels.
  • Experience generating Test Objective Memorandums for Missile Defense Agency flight tests.
  • Experience managing Task Management Tool taskers within the Missile Defense Agency.
  • Experience reviewing technical content associated with Task Management Tool taskers.
  • Familiarity with the Agile software development process.
