  • For the Physician Assistant track, graduate from a Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants or hold current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • For the Nurse Practitioner track, graduate from a Family Nurse Practitioner program and have recent experience appropriate to the clinical practice area.
  • For the Physician Assistant track, hold a current California Physician Assistant license, current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR recognition, and a Drug Enforcement Administration number or proof of application.
  • For the Nurse Practitioner track, hold current California Board of Registered Nursing licensure as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Practitioner Furnisher; have a Drug Enforcement Administration number or proof of application; meet Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services criteria to bill Medicare; and hold current CPR.
  • Be credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff Office and Finance Office.
  • Work independently with diverse patient populations and access specialty referrals and community resources.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, and sensitivity toward patients and families in crisis.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job.
  • For the Nurse Practitioner track, lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information, and solve problems.
Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate direct patient care under the direction of the Medical Director and onsite supervising physician.
  • For the Physician Assistant track, act as a first assistant to the supervising surgeon when assigned.
  • For the Physician Assistant track, provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services as delegated by a physician.
  • For the Nurse Practitioner track, provide physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness needs.
  • Provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff.
  • Serve as a role model to other employees and demonstrate the organization's core values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Recent surgery experience.
  • Recent oncology experience.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish.
  • For the Nurse Practitioner track, one year of experience in an oncology setting.
