A US bankruptcy court has approved 7 Brew's $123 million purchase of at least 60 former Salad and Go drive-thru location leases. The transaction is expected to pay Salad and Go's unsecured creditors in full, which Reed Smith, representing the debtor, called "an exceptionally rare outcome in a Chapter 11 case". The approval follows Salad and Go's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and closure of 70 stores two months ago. Dutch Bros initially agreed to a $105 million private sale for up to 65 units, but 7 Brew submitted a higher bid. The sale includes leases for approximately 36 locations in Arizona, 19 in Texas, three in Nevada, and five in Oklahoma. Dutch Bros was named backup bidder. The acquisition will accelerate 7 Brew's expansion towards its 1,000-store target.
