About the job

Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience building and scaling operations with a technical focus in business operations, product operations, revenue operations, business systems, analytics engineering, or a technical role that moved toward business work.
  • Have personally built a system that runs independently, and be able to explain what it replaced, what broke, how failures were detected, and whether it continued running after handoff.
  • Hands-on Python and SQL skills for reading and reconciling data across systems and writing code to move data.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication patterns, and debugging integrations using logs and API responses.
  • Experience using coding agents and shipping work enabled by them, as well as building systems that use models, such as workflow agents or model-driven pipeline steps; understand model reliability and how to evaluate it in production.
  • Experience building user-facing internal applications, such as with Retool, Streamlit, or a web app, and iterating based on user feedback.
  • Business understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, close, and forecasting sufficient to redesign workflows while respecting the controls owned by subject-matter experts.
  • Ability to change other teams’ processes through effective communication.
  • Willingness to perform operational work such as reconciling messy data and participating in a close.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations and automations across the internal technology stack so data moves between systems rather than through people.
  • Write scripts, services, and jobs when existing tooling is insufficient, and build solutions when off-the-shelf products do not meet requirements.
  • Build internal applications and iterate on them with the people who use them.
  • Implement agents and model-driven steps in operational workflows with evaluations, guardrails, and human review when judgment or money is involved.
  • Own automation quality end to end, including logging, error handling, monitoring, retries, secrets management, and clear ownership when failures occur.
  • Build human approval steps into processes involving money, access, or the ledger so automation does not remove controls.
  • Partner with Data and Engineering on pipelines, source-of-truth definitions, and trusted reporting.
  • Observe current work, map actual workflows, and identify steps that do not need human involvement.
  • Redesign workflows with process owners, who retain ownership of the process and controls, while owning the redesign and implementation.
  • Evaluate and select tooling when purchasing is preferable to building, and own its implementation.
  • Measure the baseline and post-implementation results, and report the impact honestly, including when an effort does not pay off.
  • Own connections to upstream and downstream systems as part of the ERP implementation and help evaluate and integrate the selected FP&A platform.
  • Build systems, integrations, and automations that return capacity to teams and help operational work scale without proportional headcount growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • ERP implementation or migration experience at any level of involvement.
  • Experience with workflow automation platforms such as Workato, Zapier, Make, or n8n; ETL tools; dbt; or version control.
  • Experience with internal application frameworks such as Retool, Streamlit, or Appsmith, or building and shipping internal tools in React.
  • Experience using agent frameworks, LLM APIs, retrieval, or evaluation tooling in production or practical applications.
  • Experience in a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 environment, or with audit evidence and access reviews.
  • Experience as an early hire in a function that did not previously exist.

Chaim Mazal appointed Chief Information Security Officer at GitLab.

Chaim Mazal appointed Chief Information Security Officer at GitLab. * June 10, 2026 Chaim Mazal has joined GitLab as Chief Information Security Officer. He will lead the company's global security organization and oversee security across GitLab's operations and platform. The company announced the appointment on June 9 from San Francisco. GitLab said Mazal's expertise in artificial intelligence and security operations will strengthen protections for AI-driven software development. The company aims to address emerging threats while supporting secure adoption of AI agents and automation technologies. "The faster agents move, the more critical it becomes that developers find and fix security vulnerabilities before code hits production. It's a defining issue in software engineering right now, and something GitLab solves with Ultimate and GitLab Duo Agent Platform," said Bill Staples, CEO at GitLab. "Having spent years as a GitLab customer, Chaim understands the GitLab platform the way builders do. That practitioner instinct, combined with his security leadership depth, is exactly what we need to make GitLab the most trusted platform in the agentic era." Mazal brings AI security leadership to strengthen GitLab platform. Mazal brings 15 years of security leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Chief AI and Security Officer at Gigamon. There, he led the company's security operations and artificial intelligence processes while monitoring governance and responsible AI adoption programs. Before joining Gigamon, Mazal held senior security leadership positions at Kandji and ActiveCampaign. Throughout his career, he focused on adversarial security, enterprise security programs, and embedding security practices directly into engineering workflows. Mazal also serves on advisory boards for Cloudflare, Rapid7, Axonius, and Bugcrowd. In addition, he was a GitLab customer for more than eight years before joining the company. He later became a member of GitLab's advisory board and helped shape product strategy before accepting the CISO position. "Frontier models are rewriting what's possible in software security. AI-driven attacks are compressing exploitation timelines, while agents expose teams to risks they aren't equipped to govern yet," said Chaim Mazal, CISO at GitLab. "We have a real opportunity to define what a world-class AI security program looks like for us and our customers." GitLab said Mazal will help set security standards for the next generation of AI-powered software development. He is accountable for securing the GitLab platform, evolving enterprise security programs and combatting AI-powered cyber threats. This comes as organizations increasingly call for stronger security controls around AI-assisted development. GitLab said Mazal's practitioner experience and deep security expertise will help the company remain a trusted platform as agentic AI technologies rapidly expand. Kandji rebrands as Iru and launches AI-powered unified IT and security platform

Kandji rebrands as Iru and launches ai-powered unified IT and security platform. Apple Inc. device management platform firm Kandji Inc. today announced that it has changed its name to Iru and launched a new artificial intelligence-powered information technology and security platform that unifies identity and access, endpoint security and management and compliance automation into a single system. The name change to Iru reflects an entirely new approach to the way IT and security teams operate by replacing stitched-together point tools with a single system. The change of name also comes with new product offerings, starting with the Iru Context Model, a unified context layer that builds a living map across users, apps, devices, posture, policy and events. The Iru Context Model is accompanied by Iru AI, which can turn live context into insights, actions and audit-ready evidence to deliver outcomes point solutions can't match. Offering a unified platform is key to new offerings, with Iru noting that research indicates that nearly half of teams cite overlapping tools as a top challenge. The company argues that enterprise IT and security teams juggle dozens of point tools with separate consoles and data silos, which leads to no shared context or single view, fractured workflows, constant tab switching and dropped handoffs. "The stack is the problem. With Iru, we collapse the stack and give IT and security teams time and control back," said Chief Executive Adam Pettit. "What made Kandji work was elegance through abstraction and automation as a force multiplier. With Iru, we've translated that approach into a new platform for the AI era." The Iru platform consists of six integrated products, starting with Workforce Identity, which offers passwordless single sign-on with hardware-backed passkeys, context-aware access to every app, stronger security and a better user experience. Endpoint Management offers advanced automation to onboard users, update apps and enforce policies across Apple, Windows and Android; Endpoint Detection and Response offers machine learning-enhanced detections with autonomous containment and remediation to stop advanced and emerging threats in real time across Mac and Windows; Vulnerability Management offers full visibility into software risk on Mac and Windows with autonomous response to patch vulnerable software, prioritized by Iru AI and Compliance Automation gives users access to AI-native compliance automation that tailors custom controls, breaks them into tasks, and maps evidence automatically, keeping you audit-ready. The platform is rounded out with Trust Center, a public portal to share certifications, reports and security posture to accelerate deals, with security questionnaires answered by Iru AI. The Iru platform is available today for new customers, while existing Kandji customers will transition to the new Iru experience with enhanced capabilities. Image: Kandji.
