Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Healthcare (BSN), Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent education, experience, and/or training may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of progressively more responsible experience in a related technology field is required; direct experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
  • Must complete certification on an Epic application specified by management within six months of training.
  • Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and strong, detail-oriented organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate interpersonal skills in a service-oriented environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis, design, testing, training, implementation, and ongoing support for hospital systems.
  • Complete project-plan tasks under the direction of a Senior Hospital Applications Analyst or Principal Hospital Applications Specialist.
  • Conduct hospital-system workflow analysis.
  • Interact with end users, vendors, and related areas to gather requirements and compile data.
  • Assist with software and/or hardware installation and coordinate with HST/IS&T departments on system planning and implementation to ensure standards are met.
  • Design and develop application programs from analysis through implementation.
  • Document, communicate, and assist with problem determination and resolution.
  • Develop and maintain systems-build documentation, issue documentation, and other required documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior Epic experience is highly desirable.
  • Direct experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
