Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook, is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to meet licensure requirements.
  • A valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record meeting Damar's insurance eligibility requirements are required for positions requiring driving.
  • Must be clear of felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect, or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Must favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation.
  • Must communicate effectively to exchange information and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies, including in environments involving aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, or elopement behaviors.
  • Regular and acceptable attendance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate visual data through video observation to determine compliance with standards, expectations, and Damar policies and procedures.
  • Ensure violation notifications are communicated and documented.
  • Monitor staff compliance with the R.E.A.L. principles, unit ratio, and remaining alert.
  • Provide safety, security, and surveillance duties through vigilant monitoring and engagement.
  • Collect, collate, and review information entered into the electronic health record regarding client incident documentation.
  • Support program staff in entering appropriate information regarding client incidents.
  • Track ESI items requiring completion and send the morning ESI report.
  • Use incident reports to assist with, ensure, or complete CPS calls and track CPS notifications.
  • Update incident reports, CPS records, and DCS notifications when new information is discovered.
  • Complete drafts of incident reports and verify their accuracy.
