Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position while maintaining constant alertness and working safely.
  • Ability to work with others under stress and be available outside normal work hours.
  • Ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing.
  • Ability to apply technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems, and processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for products or product components.
  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools, and techniques for designing, building, and managing the manufacture of new tools.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental protection, site protection, and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to solve moderately challenging problems, recognize when escalation is appropriate, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance, bring solutions to leaders, and contribute proactively to the team.
  • Ability to assess employee performance, coach, develop others, and lead by example.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to broad audiences and prepare widely understandable presentations and communications.
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with diverse people.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report are required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of plant process technology to minimize variation, optimize product manufacturing, improve workflow and cell design, improve plant layout, reduce costs, and remove bottlenecks.
  • Analyze equipment layout, cell design, plant layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to optimize efficiency and remove bottlenecks.
  • Support technical teams in identifying the root causes of equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical knowledge and judgment regarding the quality of products being produced.
  • Provide technical input and support for advancing equipment and tools.
  • Support manufacturing activities related to quality and cost.
  • Facilitate and execute continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct time studies to optimize production capabilities.
  • Support plant capital improvement projects.
  • Support the mold move process as a technical resource for internal plants and contract molders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Prior internship experience in plastics manufacturing.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience using automation to improve process and flow.
