Requirements

  • Ability to sit regularly and occasionally stand and walk, lift or move up to 25 pounds, and perform work requiring close vision.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily incoming cash, check, credit, and electronic funds transfer transactions from patients, Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers.
  • Process one-time credit card transactions.
  • Record transactions in the billing software using auto-posting and manual posting.
  • Gather new data daily for posting and distribute it to self and team members for completion.
  • Create and complete various reports.
  • Review most reversals and refunds before forwarding them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Review all Explanations of Benefits and inform management of coverage changes and problem areas.
  • Ensure monies, adjustments, refunds, and unapplied cash are posted correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Report discrepancies in accounts to management or correct them when able.
  • Ensure computer deposits and postings are balanced daily and at month end.
  • Keep management informed of changes affecting accounts receivable.
  • Work with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve accounts receivable problems.
  • Inform management of known software issues and follow up until they are resolved.
  • Sort and distribute daily incoming mail.
  • Make daily bank deposits electronically and occasionally in person.
  • Maintain physical and electronic transaction records.
  • Rotate or move physical records according to deposit date.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
