Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in a specific degree for the position, or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • A minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • An equivalent or applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • A strong background in computers and technology, excellent organizational skills, general office skills, the ability to research and effectively analyze data, and the ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
  • A commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check and, when applicable, a motor vehicle records report.
  • Adherence to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College.
  • The ability to perform the physical and communication requirements of the position, including computer and standard office equipment use and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Teach the assigned course load.
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning.
  • Meet established course, program, and learning outcomes.
  • Comply with applicable guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain office hours according to established standards.
  • Develop rapport with students and assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning.
  • Participate in campus and college committees and relevant projects.
  • Mentor peers and participate in assessment activities, program review, student organizations, recruiting, and retention.
  • Submit final grades and complete all required course forms and records.
  • Prepare lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with developing measurable course objectives and plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with students and staff that encourage teacher-student communication.
  • Be available for student consultation.
  • Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.
  • Assist with curriculum and instructional performance evaluation when agreed upon and appropriate.
  • Represent the college professionally throughout the communities and college district.
  • Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or conversational language abilities.
