Requirements
  • A master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must apply for a Counselor Agency Affiliated–Registered credential from the Washington State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver's license, active car insurance, and willingness to use a personal vehicle for work.
  • Knowledge of service delivery models including groups, skills training, brief or focused therapy, and community-based intervention for children and/or adults with serious and persistent mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statutes pertaining to the treatment and delivery of mental health services.
  • Knowledge of and experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy modalities.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, traumatic experiences, cultures, education levels, and socioeconomic statuses.
  • Ability to provide client services in office and community settings, drive between locations, traverse distances and varied terrain, navigate stairs, and get in and out of vehicles frequently.
  • Daily computer use is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide episodic, trauma-informed, person-centered therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain client records and all required documentation in a timely and confidential manner in accordance with agency policies and practices.
  • When required by the outpatient program, provide initial intake assessments to determine medical necessity and eligibility for outpatient services.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations for youth and adults.
  • Complete consent to release confidential information with clients and guardians when appropriate.
  • Determine the program assignment for enrolled individuals.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and provide crisis intervention and stabilization services, including facilitating access to inpatient behavioral health facilities.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate client treatment groups.
  • Represent the agency and its services to the community in a positive and professional manner.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, regular supervision, and weekly clinical staff meetings.
  • Participate in required training, consultation calls, and onsite visits or reviews when required by contract.
  • Accept delegated assignments and responsibilities such as quality improvement teams, task groups, committees, consultations, mentoring, or training.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with clinical, administrative, support, community, client, and family stakeholders.
  • Include the client's support network and involved community partners in treatment and care coordination.
  • Coordinate with the treatment team regarding treatment progress and discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team serving clients in community, virtual, and clinical settings.
  • Develop and implement care plans with measurable objectives and attainable goals, evaluate client progress, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Meet productivity standards according to agency program guidelines.
  • Comply with Washington Administrative Code requirements and agency policies and procedures.
  • Supervise interns when assigned.
  • Maintain professional credentials, including continuing education as applicable.
  • Travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
