Requirements
  • MD or DO.
  • Successful completion of an approved United States residency training program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, or an equivalent organization.
  • Board eligible or certified for OB/GYN practice in the State of Michigan.
  • National Resuscitation Program, Basic Life Support, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification.
  • Compliance with required measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination requirements, and annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Provide OB/GYN physician care to women at every stage of life in Gaylord, Michigan.
  • Participate in obstetric care supporting more than 500 births per year and advanced gynecologic care.
  • Participate in the striving 1:5 call model.
  • Maintain visibility within the community as a healthcare provider and serve as a role model to clinic staff, faculty, and the community.
  • Support Munson Healthcare's mission, vision, values, and performance improvement philosophy.
  • Promote personal and patient safety and report unsafe situations or equipment according to hospital procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Teaching opportunities are available through rotations with the Michigan State University-affiliated Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians from the University of Michigan are available for consultation 24/7 or through the Traverse City office.
