Requirements
  • A master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying machine-learning software products independently and collaboratively is required.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience developing reusable packages and automation tools, are required.
  • Familiarity with Databricks for scalable data processing and collaborative analytics is required.
  • A solid understanding of machine-learning systems design, including model lifecycle management, MLOps, and scalable inference, is required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, containerization, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines is required.
  • Proficiency with distributed computing frameworks, machine-learning packages, and relational and nonrelational databases is required.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and frameworks such as AutoGen, Hugging Face, LangChain, LangGraph, and LlamaIndex, including their integration into enterprise pipelines, is required.
  • Experience developing or evaluating agentic AI systems, AI orchestration, or AI-assisted decision-making workflows is required.
  • The candidate must be able to break down complex tasks into actionable steps.
  • The candidate must have communication and collaboration skills sufficient to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States or Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable software products that incorporate machine-learning and AI models.
  • Build reusable Python packages to support the implementation of machine-learning and AI algorithms and data-processing pipelines.
  • Contribute to the design of AI systems, including retrieval-augmented generation components, large language model integration, and agent-based workflows.
  • Develop agentic evaluation and monitoring frameworks to assess model reasoning, consistency, and fairness.
  • Evaluate database designs and create optimized performance queries for efficient data processing and retrieval.
  • Break down complex machine-learning engineering and AI tasks into manageable user and technical stories.
  • Ensure high-quality test coverage of machine-learning code and participate in peer reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous delivery and Agile development processes while following machine-learning and AI engineering best practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience developing or evaluating agentic AI systems, AI orchestration, or AI-assisted decision-making workflows is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience in the utility, power, or energy sectors is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of the Databricks technology stack for AI and data engineering is a plus.
