  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology is required.
  • The candidate must have strong verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner.
  • The candidate must be able to type 35 words per minute and be computer literate.
  • The candidate must be committed to providing excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external.
  • The candidate must be able to work weekends, holidays, and shift rotations as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
  • The candidate must be able to perform in frequent stressful situations.
  • The candidate must be able to meet the stated physical, sensory, and hazard-exposure requirements, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working around communicable diseases, chemicals, infectious, electrical, fire, blood, and body-fluid hazards.
Responsibilities
  • Register patients.
  • Verify insurance benefits and demographic information.
  • Complete pre-certifications.
  • Collect and post payments.
  • Complete financial assistance applications as needed.
  • Report to work during inclement weather because the position is deemed essential.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical-related field is preferred.
