Asda launches new range of no and low-alcohol wine.

Asda launches new range of no and low-alcohol wine. 19th October 2026 Asda has expanded its own-label wine portfolio with the launch of Balancing Act, a new range of alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines aimed at consumers looking to moderate their drinking. The supermarket has introduced three wines across two price points, £6 and £10, as it looks to capitalise on growing consumer interest in lower-alcohol alternatives ahead of the festive season. Developed in partnership with one of Asda's French wine suppliers in the Loire Valley, the range has been created to retain the characteristics of traditional wines while substantially reducing their alcohol content. The collection includes a Balancing Act Sauvignon Blanc at 0.0% ABV, priced at £6, alongside a premium Sauvignon Blanc at 0.5% ABV and a Pinot Noir at 0.5% ABV, both retailing at £10. The alcohol-free Sauvignon Blanc features citrus and white fruit flavours, while the premium version offers notes of pear and cherry blossom, with subtle oak influences. The Pinot Noir has been developed with red fruit flavours and hints of spice and oak. The launch forms part of Asda's efforts to strengthen its position in the expanding no and low-alcohol drinks category, with the retailer targeting shoppers seeking alternatives to conventional alcoholic drinks for social occasions. Tom Bourne, Wine Sourcing Manager at Asda, said: "The no and low category continues to evolve rapidly, but finding wines that truly deliver on quality and varietal character remains a challenge. With Balancing Act, we've worked closely with our winemaking partner in the Loire Valley to create wines that offer a genuine step up in quality." He added: "The range is all about balance. It's about balancing the craft of winemaking with alcohol reduction, while also recognising that many customers want to enjoy great wine as part of a more balanced lifestyle. Whether they're cutting back completely or simply moderating during many social events in the run-up to the festive period, we wanted to offer wines that don't feel like a compromise."

Asda joins retail leadership panel at the Products of Change Conference.

Asda joins retail leadership panel at the Products of Change Conference. The brand and licensing industry's sustainability body, Products of Change, has announced that Asda will join the speaker line-up for its annual POC Conference on 11 November at the Royal Geographical Society, London, in less than a month's time. Elle Walshe, head of sourcing and sustainability for Asda Non-Food, will bring a sourcing and sustainability perspective to the conference's retail panel, joining H&M, Decathlon and The Works to discuss how retailers can collectively unlock circularity at scale and what is needed from across the value chain to enable its implementation. Right across the consumer products industry, there is seismic change happening; sustainability is becoming embedded and setting apart the companies that are committed to the future of industry. The panel will bring together retail perspectives for a practical conversation about the collaboration needed to move the industry forward. H&M will be sharing how one of the world's largest fashion retailers is driving innovation and developing the models needed to enable a more circular future for fashion. The retail panel forms part of a wider programme connecting brands, retailers and their partners to explore how sustainability and innovation are being embedded across the consumer products industry. Meanwhile, Girlguiding will continue the theme of circularity in apparel, as they share that putting circularity at the heart of its uniform design was exactly what the next generation was asking for. Whether you're a retailer, brand owner, manufacturer, supplier, designer or innovator, the Products of Change Conference 2026 is where the industry's biggest challenges become practical solutions - and where the partnerships shaping the future begin. Tickets are available now with both in-person and digital attendance options, allowing delegates from around the world to be part of the day's insights, discussions and networking. POC Members receive a 20% discount on the ticket price when logged into the platform. The event is made possible by leaders in the brand and licensing industry that pledge their support for this invaluable event and the role it serves in collaborative and tangible sustainable advancement.
