Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in a recognized mental health field is required.
  • A Texas Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist credential is required.
  • Experience in an inpatient setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of case management, time management, crisis intervention, acute psychological disorders, and abnormal psychology as applied to adults is required.
  • Familiarity with available follow-up resource services and skill in conducting family group therapy are required.
  • Approved Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification and Management of Assaultive Behavior training, including restraint and seclusion policies, must be obtained and maintained before assuming patient care responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • Provide psychotherapeutic services to patients and their families.
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy.
  • Ensure quality treatment is delivered to patients and their families.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of each client to determine effective counseling for emotional or substance abuse problems.
