YesRx serves as a network and facilitator for Michigan's Cancer Drug Repository System, helping transfer donated medications into the state's repository program and connect eligible patients with participating pharmacies. People can donate oral cancer medications and supportive medications if they are sealed in their original manufacturer packaging, have at least six months remaining before expiration and have been stored at room temperature. Donations are accepted during Cancer Medication Donation Week and year-round at Munson Healthcare's seven infusion centers across Northern Michigan: * Cadillac Cancer & Infusion Clinic: 400 Hobart St., Cadillac * Cowell Family Cancer Center: 217 S. Madison St., Traverse City * Grayling Cancer & Infusion Clinic: 1100 E. Michigan Ave., Grayling * Kalkaska Cancer & Infusion Clinic: 419 S. "The donation of a single unopened bottle can mean a full month of treatment for someone who otherwise might not be able to afford life-saving medication." According to the American Cancer Society, three out of every four cancer patients say they worry about the cost of their care. Meanwhile, Pharmacy Times Oncology Edition estimates that more than $3 billion worth of cancer medications go to waste each year. Since its formation in 2023, YesRx and participating pharmacies have recovered more than $53 million worth of donated cancer medications and helped 2,300 Michigan patients receive prescriptions at no cost.
