Requirements
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • High School/GED required.
  • Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and an active Patient Care Technician Certification are required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Successful completion of CPCT-A certification is required.
  • Availability for part-time night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
  • Support patients’ activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport, while following standard precautions.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by a Registered Nurse, including phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care, and document appropriately.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse and respond appropriately while maintaining safe patient practices.
  • Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in orienting new hires.
  • Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to maintain a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and visitors.
