Requirements
  • Excellent influencing, partner engagement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain operational processes, including distribution requirements planning, master production scheduling, inventory, conversion, logistics, and customer service.
  • Experience in customer collaboration within a supply chain environment.
  • Numerate, with broad statistical and analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • At least 3 years of supply chain planning experience in consumer packaged goods, including demand planning, supply planning, supply management and replenishment, or logistics.
  • Experience using a planning system; SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization is preferred.
  • Supply chain experience or exposure.
  • Customer service, planning, or logistics experience.
  • Experience with order management and SAP reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage customer relationships to deliver target service metrics and optimize route to market for key India and Middle East customers.
  • Work with customer, planning, customer service, and commercial sales teams to build relationships and drive agreed customer and company outcomes for service, growth, and joint value creation.
  • Ensure customer service teams and customers execute range changes and innovations flawlessly.
  • Coordinate necessary in-market rework requirements.
  • Ensure order fulfillment issues are reported, managed, and reviewed weekly to optimize on-time delivery for customer orders, including order management rules, transport lead time, and supply-chain requirements such as minimum order quantities, cost and freight, and lead time.
  • Own and deliver customer projects that drive cost, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Implement cost-to-serve processes with key accounts to reduce end-to-end costs and simplify replenishment models.
  • Review existing route-to-market models and networks by region and identify opportunities to simplify and codify them.
  • Partner with Global Brands Supply on future streamlining initiatives, owning the proposal, commercial alignment, and implementation.
  • Define and implement processes for ongoing portfolio management to deliver a simplified assortment.
  • Improve key service metrics for Global Travel customers within the region.
  • Own and develop relationships with Global Travel commercial teams.
  • Manage Global Travel inventory levels and control slow-moving and obsolete inventory management.
  • Collaborate with market planning and operations export teams to ensure on-time-in-full supply for Global Travel.
  • Partner with planning, logistics teams, and customers to identify and implement cost-to-serve opportunities, including Incoterms reviews and impacts to payment terms.
  • Work with central planning functions to deliver customer metrics and manage in-month demand fluctuations with commercial, customer, planning, and finance teams.
  • Resolve customer-specific supply-chain issues to minimize service and availability disruptions.
  • Ensure effective partner management and own the Global Travel improvement agenda with customer service teams in the region.
  • Provide key account insights to demand planning for the monthly cycle, including changes to customer sourcing and supply chains, concession changes, and customer consolidation.
  • Work with commercial teams to drive collaboration and communication and support monthly collaborative customer forecasting to improve supply-plan stability.
  • Work directly with regional commercial teams to deliver day-to-day operational needs and act as the regional supply point of contact for non-collaboration customers.

Diageo struggles while Constellation gains hedge fund favour despite sector headwinds

Jim Cramer has shifted his stance on the alcoholic beverage sector, showing cautious optimism for Constellation Brands whilst remaining bearish on Diageo. He highlighted Constellation's new CEO, Ned Fink, as a potential catalyst for growth, noting Fink's successful track record at Jim Beam. Diageo faces multiple headwinds, including a 34.9% sales decline in China and an 8.4% drop in North American net sales. The stock has fallen 52% over five years. Constellation grew beer sales 2% to $2.28 billion in fiscal Q1, beating earnings expectations. However, beer depletion fell 0.3%, whilst wine and spirit sales dropped 10%. Hedge funds appear to favour Constellation, with 56 funds holding stakes versus 35 for Diageo. However, Diageo trades at a higher forward P/E ratio of 14.41 compared to Constellation's 11.36.

Global spirits giants sit on $22B unsold inventory amid demand slowdown

Major spirits companies are grappling with a $22 billion inventory glut, the largest in a decade, according to the Financial Times. Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Campari, Brown-Forman and Remy Cointreau are sitting on unprecedented amounts of unsold aged spirits, including whisky, Cognac, tequila and rum. The surplus stems from pandemic-era over-production when home consumption surged. However, consumer demand has since declined due to health concerns and shifts towards THC beverages. Companies have responded by pausing production at distilleries, reducing workforces and closing facilities. Cognac faces particularly severe challenges, with slowing exports and trade issues with China forcing price cuts. Even tequila, which recently outsold American whiskey in the US, is experiencing slowdown. Industry analysts warn that production cuts risk future shortages if demand rebounds unexpectedly.
