  • Minimum of 1–2+ years of professional experience in a sales or cold-call setting, or related experience.
Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships, negotiate, and develop carriers regularly via phone and email to develop specialized and dedicated carriers.
  • Engage and build relationships with carriers across dry van, reefer, hazmat, tanker-endorsed, and flatbed freight for specialized services.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and high service levels by ensuring freight is picked up and delivered on time using safe, reliable carriers.
  • Meet or exceed team financial and individual performance goals.
  • Develop knowledge of carrier supply and demand, spot market pricing, and factors that impact freight markets.
  • Learn carrier requirements, needs, and contacts; regularly update carrier profiles and advocate for carriers at all levels.
  • Develop knowledge of freight networks and lanes, including internal lanes, and find carriers that match those lanes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Track-and-trace experience.
  • Experience booking carriers for hazmat, tanker-endorsed, and flatbed freight.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Uber Freight bets big on Europe with 2027 Krakow hub, eyes $542B freight market

Uber Freight is expanding its European logistics business with a new control tower and operations hub in Krakow, Poland, set to open in 2027. The facility will be the company's second European location alongside its operations in the Netherlands. The expansion is driven by North American customers seeking to consolidate transportation management with fewer logistics providers. Uber Freight sees significant opportunity in Europe's road freight market, valued at roughly $520 billion, with trucks transporting 13.3 billion tonnes of goods across the EU in 2025. The company doubled its new fourth-party logistics deals in Europe last year. Chemical manufacturer OXEA recently selected Uber Freight to manage transportation across the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Mike Doucleff will lead the European expansion as head of Europe, starting 28 September.

Uber Freight hires Amazon and Convoy veteran as CPO to boost AI-driven logistics platform

Uber Freight has appointed Amir Pelleg as chief product officer to advance its AI-driven transportation management platform. Pelleg brings over 25 years of experience leading product, engineering and operations teams at companies including Amazon, Convoy and Dandy. The appointment reflects Uber Freight's focus on technology that helps customers make faster decisions and reduce supply chain complexity. Pelleg said AI can connect fragmented data across disconnected systems, enabling more proactive network management. He emphasised that effective products must address actual customer problems rather than simply deploy new technology. Pelleg cited fragmentation as a major obstacle facing modern supply chains, with data often siloed across different systems. San Francisco-based Uber Technologies operates three platforms: Uber ride-hailing, Uber Freight logistics, and Uber Eats delivery services.

Uber Freight revenue rises $47M year-on-year as operating loss narrows to $30M

Uber Freight reported its first year-on-year revenue increase in two years, rising to $1.34 billion from $1.26 billion in the first quarter. The digital broker recorded an operating loss of $30 million for the quarter. This marks the first time Uber reported its three segments—Mobility, Delivery and Freight—on an operating income basis rather than EBITDA. Previous quarters showed operating losses of $26 million, $40 million and $18 million for the second, third and fourth quarters of 2024, respectively. CEO Rebecca Tinucci attributed the revenue growth to strong enterprise demand and managed transportation performance, noting the company maintained service levels whilst competitors pulled back during market tightening. Uber Freight has only achieved positive EBITDA twice since inception, both in 2022.
