About the Job

Requirements

  • A master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field is required, along with 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • At least 1 year of experience building high-speed clock distribution networks optimized for performance and reliability.
  • At least 1 year of experience implementing designs across multiple clock domains with proper synchronization and isolation.
  • At least 1 year of experience executing clock planning that considers power domains, routing congestion, and placement constraints.
  • At least 1 year of experience optimizing clock trees to minimize latency and skew for high-performance designs.
  • At least 1 year of experience analyzing and selecting clock repeater and buffer configurations across various process technologies.
  • At least 1 year of experience tuning metal layer usage and fanout strategies to enhance clock signal integrity and timing.
  • At least 1 year of experience debugging physical design verification issues such as design rule checks, layout versus schematic, shorts, and opens during clock construction.

Responsibilities

  • Work on graphics projects from start to end for clock implementation involving multiple clock domains.
  • Work on clock architecture and design high-speed clock distribution circuits.
  • Perform clock planning, build simulation models using SPICE, and interact with the floorplan owner to understand power-domain, routing, and placement challenges for clocking.
  • Conduct clock repeater studies for a specific process technology, examining different buffer sizes, fanout, and metal specifications using SPICE; tabulate results in Excel for implementation engineers to select the appropriate cell and layer based on clock characteristics.
  • Participate in defining clock cells, their sizes, and families of custom clock cells needed for a particular process technology.
