Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or engineering, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Seven to ten years of manufacturing leadership experience is required.
  • Seven to ten years of fabrication experience in advanced manufacturing is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the Leetonia Precision Engineered Products department's cutting, machining, stretch-forming, assembly, and other value-added activities for aluminum products.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of safety excellence and engage employees in behavior-based safety initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate all shifts for the Precision Engineered Products team.
  • Lead the department through supervisors across multiple shifts to optimize performance.
  • Monitor business goals and metrics, execute the business plan, and meet safety, profitability, and sales-volume targets.
  • Provide operational leadership to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays.
  • Develop and implement operating methods to improve production quality and internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operating and maintenance issues while improving product quality.
  • Develop subordinates, increase their overall performance, and enhance their future growth.
  • Review production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory-control programs to maintain and enhance departmental profitability.
  • Review monthly financials, analyze results, and develop strategies to increase profitability.
  • Prepare the annual operational budget, establish required resources, and plan to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with the Quality Management System and IATF 16949 certification requirements.
  • Coordinate with other Pennex operations to develop business opportunities.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality, including changes in equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Work with outside processors to manage production and quality in order to meet customer demands and requirements.
  • Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with Pennex and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
  • Manage Precision Engineered Products supervisors across all shifts and direct, coordinate, evaluate, and oversee the performance of the unit.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints; and resolve problems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees.
  • Own the profit and loss of the Fabrication department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical or machining experience in Precision Engineered Products or metals fabrication is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging artificial intelligence tools to optimize workflows and daily productivity is desirable.
