Requirements
  • Wholesale sales experience with specialty toys, gifts, or similar consumer products.
  • Experience using customer relationship management systems to manage leads and existing customer relationships; NetSuite experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience building actionable reports and presenting key performance indicators and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing market and rapid product launches, while considering stakeholder opinions.
  • Ability to manage one's own schedule and workload while balancing numerous projects.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in business, sales, and/or marketing.
  • At least six years of successful toy or consumer products sales experience managing and selling across all types of accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing growth strategies, setting measurable goals, and translating strategic objectives into actionable plans that drive business results.
Responsibilities
  • Expand core business lines and develop and execute strategies supporting new product line launches.
  • Manage and develop an internal sales team of six to eight sales professionals handling house account sales, trade show operations, and national and key account management.
  • Build the inside sales strategy, including developing outreach programs, training sales staff, and determining incentive programs.
  • Manage and train independent sales representative teams.
  • Develop and grow the existing domestic customer base by building relationships with specialty, national, and mid-tier retailers, catalogs, and buying groups.
  • Manage 10 to 15 national and international trade shows annually, including attending and representing the company at high-profile shows.
  • Solicit feedback from important wholesale customers and implement suggestions through semi-annual retailer board meetings.
  • Partner with the executive team to shape the international growth strategy and manage the team responsible for executing it, including sales and distribution partnerships, product selection, and global market expansion.
  • Work directly with customers in the custom and white-label production business.
  • Work with the product development team to develop new lines and product concepts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating internationally, either directly or through international distribution agreements.
  • An advanced degree.
