Medical Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse
About the job
- The LPN must be a graduate of an LPN program and hold a current license.
- The RMA or CMA must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold an active registration or certification.
- Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
- A self-starter, highly motivated candidate with a friendly, outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills is required.
- Obtain vital signs and general health information for the patient chart and prepare patients for examination.
- Assist the provider with examinations and procedures as needed.
- Assist with collecting laboratory specimens and performing tests ordered by the provider, or arrange patient testing, admissions, and referrals.
- Enter and record patient information in charts concisely and accurately.
- An Associate's Degree is preferred but not required.
- Three years of clinical experience in a physician's office is highly preferred.
- Experience with the Epic electronic medical record system, office skills, and knowledge of medical and insurance terminology are preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of various health insurance plans is preferred.
