Requirements
  • Prior work in a high-volume kitchen is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old due to licensure requirements.
  • For positions requiring driving, candidates must have a valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record that meets Damar's insurance eligibility requirements.
  • Candidates must have no felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect, or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical and favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening.
  • Candidates must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidates must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies, including unpredictable behaviors.
  • Candidates must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave.
  • Essential functions must be performed satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals and complete assigned kitchen responsibilities related to food preparation.
  • Load food carts.
  • Review and accurately follow meal count information to ensure client safety.
  • Assist in maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Help prepare and provide meals for clients and staff.
  • Take ownership of facilities and assigned work areas to support clients' wellbeing.
  • Travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation when required.
  • Communicate effectively to exchange information.
