Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Hold an active Georgia pharmacist license.
  • Have two years of clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle a high-volume patient load, work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate leadership qualities, and show interest in direct patient care, projects, quality improvement, and medication safety.
Responsibilities
  • Manage medications for leukemia, lymphoma, and stem cell transplant patients across inpatient units, infusion center outpatient care, and physician clinic outpatient care.
  • Conduct daily patient rounds in all care areas.
  • Collaborate with hematologists, infectious disease physicians, internal medicine physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses to ensure medication management follows clinical literature, current best practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide extensive education to patients and staff.
  • Lead investigational drug research.
  • Oversee technician compounding in outpatient settings.
  • Implement medication safety processes.
  • Provide oversight for medication management policies and procedures.
  • Train pharmacy students and postgraduate year 1 and postgraduate year 2 pharmacy residents.
  • Provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage on a Monday-through-Friday schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in oncology pharmacy, completion of an accredited postgraduate year 1 residency with a rotation in an oncology area or equivalent experience as a clinical pharmacist, completion of an accredited postgraduate year 2 oncology residency with a rotation in stem cell transplant or equivalent experience as an oncology-focused clinical pharmacist, and certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in a relevant clinical practice specialty such as Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist, or Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist.
