About the job

Requirements
  • At least 12 years of progressive product management experience, with a proven track record leading high-scale, enterprise-grade cloud platforms, SaaS infrastructure, or distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading exabyte-scale logging, observability, security information and event management (SIEM), streaming data pipelines, or security data lake platforms.
  • Mastery in evaluating distributed systems architecture, real-time streaming engines, cold/hot storage tiering, data lakes, and API-first ecosystem strategies.
  • Proven ability to influence C-level enterprise stakeholders, cross-functional engineering vice presidents, and principal technical leaders without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud unit economics (cost of goods sold), multi-tenant SaaS margin optimization, and strategic pricing/metering for data-intensive platform capabilities.
  • Proven experience driving platform capabilities from incubation to multi-million-user global scale while maintaining enterprise-grade service-level agreements (99.99%+ availability).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Data Science, or equivalent technical practical experience.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end strategy, architectural evolution, and multi-year vision for the Strata Logging Service, transforming raw network telemetry into a high-value, AI-ready enterprise data asset.
  • Partner with Distinguished Engineers and Systems Architects to evaluate platform tradeoffs across ultra-high-throughput ingestion, real-time processing, schema governance, zero-data-loss durability, and global cloud infrastructure cost efficiency.
  • Act as the foundational data platform leader across all product lines, ensuring unified logging, telemetry standardization, and seamless data accessibility for downstream security engines and third-party ecosystems.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 chief information security officers, vice presidents of infrastructure, and security operations leaders, synthesizing complex enterprise requirements into scalable, platform-wide capabilities.
  • Architect data pipeline capabilities for next-generation AI/machine-learning security workflows, real-time operational automation, and predictive analytics.
  • Establish standards for global data sovereignty, multi-tenant isolation, enterprise access control frameworks (role-based access control and attribute-based access control), compliance standards, and schema evolution across dynamic security event models.
  • Lead long-term unit-economic modeling for data ingestion, compute, storage, and egress, driving platform innovation that delivers strong gross margins alongside high-performance service-level agreements.
  • Establish executive-level operational and business metrics covering platform availability, ingestion service-level agreement compliance, adoption velocity, platform unit economics, and customer return on investment.
  • Align product marketing, go-to-market, field engineering, and executive leadership on major platform shifts, pricing and packaging paradigms, and developer integration frameworks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strategic background in network security, Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), or enterprise security operations ecosystems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud-native data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka, Flink, and Pulsar, and modern lakehouse architectures such as Iceberg, Delta Lake, Snowflake, and BigQuery.
  • Direct experience building data infrastructure tailored for large language model training, real-time artificial intelligence inferencing, or automated security orchestration.
  • Experience defining enterprise-grade data export, application programming interface gateway architectures, and partner integration ecosystems.
  • Deep knowledge of global data privacy laws and data residency frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA, and industry security certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
  • A master’s degree or MBA.

AI hacking attacks jump 89% as cybersecurity stocks split into platforms and point solutions

AI-powered hacking attacks jumped 89% last year, according to CrowdStrike's own threat report. The finding is pushing buyers to choose between one connected security platform and a pile of separate tools. CrowdStrike's Falcon Flex bundling programme has grown its contracted value past $2 billion, more than doubling in a year. Palo Alto Networks added about 220 "platformization" deals in a recent quarter, more than twice the pace of two years earlier. Fortinet is using its lead in network firewalls to cross-sell. SentinelOne, Cloudflare, and Zscaler make thinner platform cases. Okta remains a point solution focused on verifying logins. CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks are both down more than 13% from their October 6 record highs, amid reports that OpenAI may buy a cybersecurity startup.

Palo Alto Networks falls 3.9% to $402.45 as Phillip Securities stays neutral on valuation

Palo Alto Networks shares fell about 3.9% to $402.45 at 12:15 EST after Phillip Securities kept its Neutral rating. In an October 12 report, the firm took a positive view of software overall but called the cybersecurity company's valuation stretched. GuruFocus's GF Value chart puts the shares 71.26% above its $235 estimate. Fiscal fourth-quarter next-generation security annual recurring revenue reached $9.1 billion, up 63% year over year. However, a $282 million GAAP net loss became $853 million in adjusted net income, a $1.135 billion gap driven by stock compensation, acquisition-related costs, and other adjustments. Investors now want to see Palo Alto keep customers, turn contracted business into revenue, and generate cash while limiting dilution.

Palo Alto Networks launches AI-powered penetration testing subscription, shares rise 3.5%

Palo Alto Networks launched a worldwide annual subscription for continuous AI-powered security testing through its Unit 42 division. Shares rose 3.45% to $387.485 on Wednesday morning. The service uses AI models from Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5, OpenAI's GPT-5.6-Cyber, and open-weight models to test applications, APIs, cloud systems, code, and networks. It identifies weaknesses, assesses exploitation risk, and recommends fixes and virtual patches. The shares trade 66.17% above the $233.18 GF Value shown for 23 September. Annual contracts could stabilise Unit 42's revenue, though AI model usage and specialist work carry costs. Renewals, customer results, and margins will determine whether the launch justifies the current valuation.
