Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, application development, artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with computers and standard office technology, Claude Code, GitHub, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Platform, and other software development, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and collaboration tools as required.
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR certification.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
  • A valid Indiana driver’s license and a driving record that meets the eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier are required for positions requiring driving.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen is required.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to exchange information.
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.
  • Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain code supporting Damar’s artificial intelligence product stack, including data pipelines, model integrations, application programming interfaces, application logic, and other supporting systems.
  • Monitor and improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability of artificial intelligence-enabled applications and supporting infrastructure.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs, system issues, and technical debt, including improving or refactoring inherited code and systems.
  • Independently prototype, develop, test, and ship new artificial intelligence product features and enhancements based on organizational and user needs.
  • Evaluate technical approaches and make practical engineering decisions balancing product needs, maintainability, scalability, security, and delivery speed.
  • Serve as an internal technical resource and point of contact for artificial intelligence products, systems, integrations, and related development work.
  • Partner with external technology vendors and translate technical discussions, requirements, limitations, and recommendations into clear information for non-technical leaders and staff.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs and workflow challenges into technical requirements and product solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for code, architecture, integrations, configurations, processes, and key technical decisions.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap for artificial intelligence products by identifying priorities, technical dependencies, system improvements, risks, and future development opportunities.

EEOC sues Damar Services, Inc., for disability discrimination. INDIANAPOLIS - Damar Services, Inc., an Indianapolis-based residential services provider for individuals with developmental disabilities, violated federal law when it refused to hire a deaf applicant, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit announced today.
