Requirements
  • The candidate must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner in a safety-sensitive position.
  • The candidate must be able to work overtime and weekends as required based on business needs.
  • The candidate must be able to work on a rotating shift as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
  • The candidate must be able to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
  • The candidate must have basic math, reading, and communication skills.
  • The candidate must be able to read, comprehend, and, where necessary, complete blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, and repair parts requests.
  • The candidate must be able to use measuring equipment such as a micrometer, caliper, scale, Volt/Ohm Meter, and standard and metric tape measure.
  • The candidate must have advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions.
  • The candidate must be able to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines.
  • The candidate must be able to overhaul, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant machines.
  • The candidate must be able to make simple parts, equipment, and tools.
  • The candidate must be able to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair existing production equipment in a manufacturing and food environment.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements for all equipment to ensure optimum operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical device issues and correct them as necessary to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Control downtime by communicating with all departments.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts, fabricate parts when needed, and adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories and conserve resources when able.
  • Perform facility maintenance.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Work safely and efficiently using all required personal protective and safety equipment and devices, and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desired.
