Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy.
  • A current and valid state medical license.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing an interdisciplinary team.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a community physician providing geriatric care.
  • At least 3 years of responsibility for managing a profit-and-loss statement.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • A valid driver's license, access to a car, willingness to drive to patient homes and other patient locations, and an active auto insurance policy.
  • Experience with electronic health record medical documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent bedside manner and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting with weights exceeding 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to drive to patient locations, including homes, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Fine motor skills and visual acuity.
Responsibilities
  • Practice the WellBe mission by delivering complete care that helps patients lead healthier, meaningful lives.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary clinical Community Team to manage the health and well-being of patients living in their homes.
  • Work with the Market General Manager and Senior Medical Officer to achieve quality outcomes and community growth.
  • Understand the local and national landscape affecting the clinical model, including health policy, socioeconomic factors, competition, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements, regulations, and other clinical data relevant to quality patient care.
  • Prioritize and act on opportunities to improve community metrics, including clinical outcomes, cost and revenue, partnerships, and quality measures.
  • Foster key relationships within the community network.
  • Identify hospitalist and skilled nursing facility physician groups, build relationships focused on mutual patient outcomes, and create contractual relationships when additional alignment is needed.
  • Partner with WellBe leadership to grow the organization, innovate the model, and improve execution.
  • Develop constructive cross-functional and matrix relationships with WellBe business partners to enable the model.
  • Float within the community physician role as needed.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide the clinical Community Team.
  • Deliver primary, urgent, and acute medical care to an assigned patient population.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and administrative and operational teams to deliver clinical and operational outcomes for patients and families.
  • Serve as a WellBe ambassador with community physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other medical facilities.
  • Travel locally to patient homes and other care locations as needed.

  • Palliative care certification or a focus in palliative care.

WellBe Senior Medical has appointed four new leadership team members as the home-based medical care provider scales operations across the US. The company now serves over 120,000 patients in eight states. The new hires include Shafina Shehnaz as chief financial officer, bringing experience from Optum Health where she served as CFO of the care delivery arm. Sabita Lahiri joins as chief transformation officer after leading clinical strategy at Landmark Health for seven years. Dr Katrina Booth, a board-certified geriatrician, becomes chief medical officer, whilst Cammile Bird takes on the role of senior vice president of engagement.
