Shure, Microsoft drive the next phase of enterprise collaboration and conferencing in South Africa.

Shure, Microsoft drive the next phase of enterprise collaboration and conferencing in South Africa. Shure, a global leader in audio and workplace collaboration solutions, joined Microsoft in South Africa for an exclusive event hosted by Planetworld, Shure's South African distribution partner focused on the next generation of enterprise collaboration and conferencing. The event introduced the IntelliMix(TM) Bar Pro to the local market and showcased the continued evolution of the Shure Microflex(R) Ecosystem. Bringing together Shure, Microsoft and Planetworld, the event demonstrated how organisations can create more intelligent, consistent and scalable meeting environments across different room types by combining Shure's enterprise audio, video, digital signal processing and device management capabilities with Microsoft Teams. The South Africa launch comes as investment in AI and digital infrastructure continues to accelerate across the country. Microsoft has committed an additional ZAR 5.4 billion by the end of 2027 to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure in South Africa, building on ZAR 20.4 billion invested over the previous three years to establish enterprise-grade data centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.[1] As enterprises increase their use of AI-enabled collaboration tools, the quality of technology within meeting environments is becoming increasingly important. Clear and consistent speech capture supports functions including transcription, meeting summaries and other AI-assisted workflows, placing audio infrastructure at the centre of the modern collaboration experience. Jacques Conradie - Sales Director from Planetworld said: "South African organisations are increasingly looking for collaboration technology that delivers enterprise-grade performance while remaining simple to deploy, manage and scale. Hosting Shure and Microsoft gives local customers and system integrators direct access to the latest developments across the IntelliMix and Microflex portfolios. Our focus is on combining global innovation with local technical expertise, training and support to help organisations build collaboration environments that meet the evolving needs of the modern workplace." Bringing IntelliMix Bar Pro to South Africa At the centre of the event was IntelliMix Bar Pro, Shure's all-in-one collaboration bar designed for medium-to-large meeting spaces and certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms. The solution combines audio, video, compute and intelligent processing within a single enterprise-ready system. By consolidating these capabilities, IntelliMix Bar Pro can reduce hardware requirements and simplify installation, deployment and ongoing support for IT and AV teams. Its integrated IntelliMix digital signal processing enhances speech while reducing distracting room noise, supporting clear communication for both in-room and remote participants. For video, IntelliMix Bar Pro incorporates four 4K AI-powered cameras with a combined 135-degree field of view, supported by Shure IntelliMix View(TM) AI framing technology to intelligently capture and frame meeting participants. Built on the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP), IntelliMix Bar Pro provides an Android-based platform foundation designed to support enhanced security, simplified management and consistent performance at enterprise scale. IT and AV teams can also remotely monitor, manage, update and troubleshoot supported Shure devices through ShureCloud, helping organisations maintain collaboration technology across multiple rooms, offices and locations. A Decade of Microflex Advance Innovation The event also highlighted 10 years of Shure Microflex Advance (MXA), reinforcing the Microflex Ecosystem as a cornerstone of Shure's enterprise collaboration strategy. The MXA portfolio began in 2016 with the introduction of the MXA910 Ceiling Array Microphone and MXA310 Table Array Microphone. Over the past decade, MXA has expanded across ceiling, tabletop and linear array form factors, supported by increasingly sophisticated IntelliMix DSP and intelligent coverage technologies. The wider Microflex Ecosystem brings these technologies together with networked loudspeakers, wireless audio and software-based processing to support complete collaboration environments. Today, the ecosystem enables organisations to design networked audio systems for spaces including meeting rooms, classrooms, executive boardrooms, training facilities and complex divisible environments. A range of Microflex Ecosystem configurations are certified for use with Microsoft Teams Rooms, allowing enterprises to combine Shure microphones, DSP and loudspeaker technologies with Microsoft collaboration environments while retaining flexibility around individual room requirements. Across its broader collaboration portfolio, Shure supports Microsoft Teams Rooms deployments across Windows and Android environments, enabling organisations to select solutions according to room size, architecture and IT requirements. The evolution reflects Shure's wider enterprise strategy: combining professional hardware with intelligent software processing, unified communications integration and cloud-enabled management. "South Africa is an important market for Shure, and this event brings together the three elements that are critical to advancing enterprise collaboration: innovation, platform integration and strong local expertise," said Yassine Mannai, Associate Director Sales & Marketing, MEA, Turkey and CIS at Shure. "Together with Microsoft and Planetworld, we are bringing Shure's latest collaboration technologies closer to customers and system integrators in the market. As we mark a decade of Microflex Advance innovation and introduce IntelliMix Bar Pro in South Africa, our focus is on helping organisations build intelligent, scalable and reliable meeting environments that are ready for the evolving demands of hybrid work, unified communications and AI-enabled collaboration." For Shure, the event marks the next phase of its enterprise AV strategy, building on a decade of Microflex innovation while expanding its capabilities across unified communications, intelligent processing and cloud-connected collaboration.
