IGEL is working with Omnissa to validate a deployment workflow that enables organisations to use Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM and Omnissa Freestyle Orchestrator to prepare Windows endpoints for IGEL Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery. The announcement was made at Omnissa ONE 2026. The integrated workflow allows IT teams to run pre-install checks and prepare endpoints for IGEL Dual Boot, which installs IGEL OS alongside Windows to provide an alternate operating path during disruptions. During incidents, IGEL BC&DR with Emergency Mode can centrally move enabled endpoints into IGEL OS, helping users regain secure access to virtual desktops and applications whilst IT teams investigate and remediate the Windows environment. The deployment workflow is currently being validated for supported environments.

Omnissa debuts AI agents for IT, a managed cloud PC service and Elara for AI governance. Digital workspace company Omnissa LLC today unveiled new artificial intelligence agents for information technology teams and virtual desktop users, a managed cloud PC service and an AI governance product named Omnissa Elara. The releases, announced at the company's Omnissa ONE 2026 conference in Orlando, go after a problem it says is getting worse as employees adopt AI tools faster than their IT departments can approve them. Usage of AI assistant apps across enterprise endpoints grew nearly 1,000% in 2025, according to the company's State of Digital Workspace 2026 report, with roughly three-quarters of it coming from unsanctioned tools. Omnissa Chief Product Officer Bharath Rangarajan said AI "is compressing the distance between insight and action." Companies have to be able to see and control what AI is doing before they hand it more autonomy, he said. Three of the new agents are built for IT administrators. Troubleshooting falls to the Digital Employee Experience agent, which traces a worker's problem to its root cause and recommends a fix based on existing playbooks or earlier Workspace ONE Assist support sessions. he Windows App Lifecycle agent takes on application packaging, still largely manual work, and tests each app before an administrator reviews it. The third works with Workspace ONE Vulnerability Defense, a vulnerability remediation product Omnissa launched last year. Inside Vulnerability Defense, the agent ranks vulnerabilities by priority and prepares patches, with a human kept in the loop before deployment. Large language models are speeding up the discovery of flaws, Omnissa said, and the time to exploit one has dropped below a day, so the agent is meant to help IT teams patch fast enough to keep up. Beyond its own agents, Omnissa is opening its platform to outside ones. Administrators can connect the agent tool of their choice through a new hosted server built on the Model Context Protocol, and what that tool can reach is limited by the administrator's existing role and permissions. On the virtual desktop side, Horizon Delegate runs inside an employee's Horizon virtual machine and carries out tasks under that worker's approved identity and permissions. The work can keep going after the employee disconnects. The other desktop announcement is Omnissa Cloud PC, a desktop-as-a-service offering the company runs itself. The service includes the underlying compute, plus Omnissa's endpoint management and digital employee experience tools. Elara covers the governance side of today's announcements. Omnissa is pitching it as "the authority layer" for AI governance and high-impact enterprise actions. The product pulls in signals from systems that normally run separately, so IT and security leaders can see how AI apps, models and agents are being used. Policies set against broader business conditions can then be applied before an action with real consequences goes through. "Autonomously managing, securing and monitoring the end-user workspace is now a requirement for enterprise IT, as AI takes on more responsibility across the business," said Phil Hochmuth, research vice president for endpoint management and enterprise mobility at International Data Corp. "IT leaders need clear visibility into human and AI-driven activity, along with the controls to govern actions at machine speed." Omnissa did not give availability dates for the new products. Cloud PC will run first on Amazon Web Services Inc., with other cloud providers to follow. Omnissa was spun out of VMware Inc. in 2024, after Broadcom Inc. acquired VMware and sold its end-user computing business to KKR & Co. Inc. for $4 billion. Image: Omnissa. Omnissa has unveiled AI innovations at its ONE 2026 conference aimed at creating autonomous workspaces with enhanced IT control. The company introduced Omnissa Cloud PC, a turnkey cloud PC service running on AWS, and Horizon Delegate, an agent that performs tasks within virtual machines on users' behalf. Three new IT agents were announced: a Digital Employee Experience agent for troubleshooting, a Workspace ONE Vulnerability Defense agent for autonomous patch management, and a Windows App Lifecycle agent for application packaging. Omnissa also launched Elara, an AI governance solution providing oversight of AI applications and agents across enterprise systems. The announcements come as AI assistant usage on enterprise endpoints has surged nearly 1,000% year over year, with 75% from unsanctioned tools. Omnissa's platform currently processes approximately 50TB of endpoint data daily and supports 150 million workflow executions monthly across tens of millions of endpoints.
10ZiG Technology has announced support for Omnissa Horizon Client for Linux 2606, claiming performance improvements of up to 2x for video playback. The collaboration between 10ZiG and Omnissa aims to optimise Horizon Blast Extreme performance across Intel- and AMD-based thin client endpoints. 10ZiG is a provider of thin and zero client hardware and software solutions for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and desktop as a service (DaaS). The enhanced support is designed to improve the user experience for organisations deploying virtual desktop environments using 10ZiG's endpoint devices with Omnissa's remote display protocol technology.
