  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Knowledge of dental clinic administrative procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of computers and computer programs, including electronic health records.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ability to accurately gather data and compile reports supporting student success.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of sensitive information by exercising sound judgment and following cybersecurity and privacy policies.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with management of the dental clinic by planning, organizing, and coordinating daily operations in collaboration with the FQHC Dental Supervisor to standardize dental policies and processes, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support activities in the clinic simulation lab.
  • Assist students with chart audits of their patient portfolios.
  • Participate in meetings and continuous quality-improvement programs.
  • Review patient electronic health records daily and assist students with the accuracy of notes and corresponding CDT coding.
  • Maintain current appointments for patients assigned to the student clinic and help students maintain active patient portfolios.
  • Participate in dental data analysis for trending and recommendations.
  • Use the electronic dental record and Acuity Insights platforms to provide reports on students' progress through clinical education to appropriate individuals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on need.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Dental Assisting certificate or Dental Hygiene degree.
  • Experience with dental office management, patient-care coordination, and electronic health records.
