About the job
- Expertise and experience in Operations or DevOps.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, including automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and collaboration.
- Knowledge of AWS.
- Understanding of advanced containerization concepts, including Docker.
- Ability to create training and user documentation and conduct formal training for junior team members.
- Experience working with microservices and serverless functions.
- Capabilities in Bash and Python scripting.
- Linux system and network administration skills, particularly with Ubuntu.
- Understanding of infrastructure as code, such as CloudFormation, and an automation- and templating-driven approach.
- Experience with configuration management tools.
- Experience with monitoring and observability dashboard tools such as Sumo Logic and AWS CloudWatch.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally when advising, setting expectations, or suggesting improvements.
- Regularly speaks in public forums.
- Work alongside a DevOps culture.
- Research, analyse, and identify best-practice solutions aligned with program needs.
- Advise clients and work alongside junior team members to help design platform improvements.
- Manage and maintain more than 100 AWS instances across more than 50 virtual private clouds globally.
- Manage a global fleet of tens of thousands of Linux-powered Internet of Things devices.
- Monitor systems and respond to alerts to ensure system uptime.
- Identify, investigate, and analyse business processes, procedures, and work practices, and find ways to incorporate improvements into products.
- Proactively identify and implement initiatives and solutions that enhance cloud infrastructure with the team.
- Deploy to a wide range of devices in development, user acceptance testing, and production environments.
- Mentor others through code reviews and pair programming.
