LG opens first US chiller factory in Virginia to meet AI data center cooling demand

LG Electronics is establishing its first US chiller factory in Virginia to meet growing demand for AI data centre cooling solutions. The 350,000-square-foot facility in Isle of Wight County will produce air-cooled chillers, with production beginning in the first half of 2027. The company plans to invest KRW 150 billion total across the new US facility and expanded production lines at existing factories in Pyeongtaek and Changwon, South Korea.
