About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of product management, product engineering, technical founder, or equivalent experience, with meaningful ownership of consumer-facing web or mobile products.
  • Strong consumer product instincts, including experience shipping products that users adopt, understand, trust, and return to.
  • Technical fluency across software product development, including APIs, data models, event instrumentation, backend workflows, frontend states, AI workflows, latency, failure modes, privacy constraints, and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Ability to navigate API documentation, logs, event payloads, session recordings, agent traces, and codebases to investigate product behavior.
  • Experience partnering with engineering and design from problem definition through launch, including discovery, product requirements/specifications, user experience flows, technical scoping, sprint planning, quality assurance, rollout, metric tracking, and iteration.
  • Strong analytical ability, including comfort with SQL or equivalent data exploration and product analytics tools, and ability to define useful metrics.
  • Track record improving engagement, retention, activation, conversion, habit formation, lifecycle, or core experience metrics in a consumer product.
  • Product taste and user experience judgment covering copy, information architecture, interaction design, empty and error states, mobile responsiveness, notification timing, trust cues, and user experience.
  • Use of AI-native tools to prototype, analyze, write, synthesize, debug, or accelerate work.
  • Comfort working on AI-enabled products and considering prompt behavior, user expectations, evaluation, quality thresholds, fallback paths, human review, auditability, and safety.
  • Ability to work across clinical, operations, support, compliance, legal, growth, data, design, engineering, and founders while maintaining focus on the user problem.
  • Ability to write strategy documents, product specifications, launch plans, decision memos, patient-facing copy, and post-launch analyses.
Responsibilities
  • Own patient-facing product surfaces across the consumer journey, including discovery, onboarding, intake, insurance and payment clarity, scheduling, provider fit, visit preparation and completion, follow-up, care-plan adherence, refills, renewals, messaging, support, retention, and reactivation.
  • Translate clinical, operational, regulatory, and AI workflows into consumer experiences that reduce anxiety, increase clarity, and help patients know what to do next.
  • Build durable product systems for patient timelines, care status, tasking, reminders, notifications, escalation paths, asynchronous messaging, support deflection, eligibility logic, provider availability, and follow-up workflows.
  • Partner with engineering to scope and ship products across web, mobile-responsive experiences, backend workflows, APIs, third-party integrations, event pipelines, data models, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Define and own product metrics, including activation, intake completion, scheduling conversion, first-visit completion, time to care, repeat-visit rate, renewal completion, retention, NPS/CSAT, patient confusion, support burden, no-shows, and operating cost per visit.
  • Use PostHog, SQL, analytics tools, customer support data, operational dashboards, and qualitative research to identify patient friction, prioritize product bets, and measure outcomes.
  • Design and run structured experiments where appropriate, and apply product judgment, clinical input, and quality thresholds when healthcare products should not rely on pure A/B testing.
  • Own product specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, rollout plans, quality assurance checklists, experiment plans, metric definitions, launch notes, and post-launch readouts.
  • Prototype product ideas using tools such as Figma, v0, Lovable, Replit, Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, lightweight scripts, or no-code tools.
  • Work directly in the codebase and open production-quality pull requests for scoped changes such as instrumentation, internal tools, workflow logic, user interface and copy improvements, prototypes, and fixes; test, review, and safely roll out the work with engineering.
  • Partner with clinical and operations teams to understand patient and provider workflows and edge cases, including missed appointments, medication refill timing, insurance confusion, state and provider availability, pharmacies, clinical escalations, patient safety, handoffs, and support loops.
  • Partner with compliance, legal, privacy, and clinical leadership to design AI-enabled product experiences with safeguards, human review, auditability, expectation-setting, and patient trust.
  • Improve the AI product layer through patient-facing AI interactions, AI-assisted intake, personalization, care navigation, workflow automation, internal copilots, clinical and operations review queues, and evaluation loops.
  • Create product feedback loops using patient conversations, support tickets, provider feedback, drop-off data, session recordings, funnel analytics, and clinical and operations metrics.
  • Work with growth and brand to align acquisition promises with the product experience and help patients understand the service, get oriented, and remain in care.
  • Raise product craft through clearer flows, better defaults, fewer dead ends, tighter copy, sharper state handling, improved mobile experiences, stronger instrumentation, faster iteration, and higher launch quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience is a strong plus but is not required.
  • Experience in a trust-sensitive consumer category such as fintech, insurance, family or children’s products, identity, privacy, marketplaces, wellness, or regulated consumer products.
  • Experience at or near a named consumer technology, health, or software company, or another breakout consumer product known for high craft, high trust, and fast iteration.

AI bot refills antidepressants for $20/month, cutting 67-day psychiatry wait times in Utah pilot

Legion Health, a Utah-based telepsychiatry company, has launched a $20-per-month AI tool for mental health prescription renewals, addressing median wait times of 67 days for psychiatry appointments. The service handles refills for stable patients on maintenance medications like SSRIs and Wellbutrin but does not diagnose, prescribe new medications or adjust doses. The AI conducts safety checks for side effects, drug interactions and warning signs before approving refills. Cases flagged as concerning are routed to human clinicians, who can be requested at any time. The rollout requires doctor approval for the first 250 prescriptions, with subsequent review systems in place. Founded in 2021, Legion Health cites provider shortages and high costs as key drivers, noting 40% to 50% of patients don't consistently take psychiatric medications as prescribed.
