About the job

Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Bring deep, hands-on construction expertise, including reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications, and running the field from them.
  • Command construction delivery methods and contract structures, including guaranteed maximum price, lump sum, cost-plus, and design-assist, and the mechanics of change-order management.
  • Have delivered technically complex scopes, such as commercial kitchens, high-end client, amenity, and event spaces, data/server rooms with redundant power and cooling, and integrated security systems.
  • Be strong in pre-construction, including constructibility review, estimating, value engineering, and bid leveling.
  • Command cost and commercial controls, including budgeting by division, schedule of values, pay-application review, change-order governance, and contingency management.
  • Have managed budgets for projects ranging from $50 million to $300 million or more, and multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Have navigated permitting and inspections across multiple jurisdictions, in union and non-union environments.
  • Have directly managed and developed project managers through full project lifecycles, and be able to scale a delivery function for rapid growth.
  • Be proficient with construction project management software such as Procore; critical path method scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project; and Microsoft Office.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages from the C-suite to the general population.
  • Be willing to travel 25–50% to various office locations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead pre-construction on complex buildouts, including constructibility and design/drawing reviews, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing and structural coordination, estimating support, value engineering, and development of the guaranteed maximum price or bid package.
  • Recommend and own the delivery method and contracting strategy for each project, such as guaranteed maximum price, lump sum, construction manager at risk, or design-assist, matching the approach to scope, schedule, and risk.
  • Read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications; surface gaps, conflicts, and risks before they reach the field.
  • Coordinate technically demanding scopes, including commercial kitchens with Type I hoods, make-up air, grease and UL300 fire-suppression systems, and utility upsizing; high-performance audiovisual and acoustics for executive and event spaces; server/IDF rooms with redundant power and supplemental cooling; elevated power density; and integrated physical security.
  • Manage permitting and inspections with authorities having jurisdiction across multiple markets and labor environments.
  • Oversee construction from mobilization through closeout across multiple concurrent projects, holding general contractors accountable to schedule, budget, safety, and quality.
  • Run technical processes that keep a job on track, including requests for information, submittals and shop drawings, architect's supplemental instructions, and building information modeling/clash coordination across trades; lead owner-architect-contractor and trade-coordination meetings.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality control; enforce inspection protocols and punch-list management.
  • Drive commissioning and closeout, including systems commissioning (including kitchen exhaust/make-up air balancing, building management systems, and life-safety), temporary and final certificates of occupancy, as-builts, operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, attic stock, and owner training.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, and the company's sustainability goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, subcontractors, and external project managers, holding them to clear communication and accountability.
  • Lead general contractor selection end to end, including pre-qualification/request for qualifications, request for proposals/invitation to bid, bid leveling and scope normalization, scope-gap detection, and award; structure contracts covering guaranteed maximum price fees, general conditions/requirements, allowances, contingencies, qualifications, and exclusions.
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with contractors, vendors, and consultants; manage general contractor performance throughout construction, including schedule adherence, change-order management, safety compliance, and closeout.
  • Determine which trades and specialty vendors to carry under the general contractor versus hold owner-direct, and manage critical long-lead vendors, including kitchen equipment, audiovisual, architectural millwork, and switchgear/generator.
  • Develop and maintain landlord and property-management relationships to facilitate approvals and ongoing operations.
  • Build and own detailed budgets by trade/Construction Specifications Institute division, separating hard costs, soft costs, furniture, fixtures and equipment, technology, allowances, and escalation; deliberately manage design, construction, and general contractor contingencies.
  • Review and approve budgets, change orders, and invoices, including schedule-of-values setup, pay-application review (e.g., American Institute of Architects G702/G703), retainage, and lien waivers, providing professional pushback to protect the company's interests.
  • Govern the change-order process, from potential change order to change order, including markups and substantiation, and distinguish legitimate changes from contractor scope gaps.
  • Lead value engineering that protects scope and design intent; maintain cost forecasting and reporting throughout each project.
  • Directly manage and develop a team of Real Estate/Construction Project Managers delivering projects across the global portfolio.
  • Set technical standards, playbooks, and performance expectations; balance workload across the team by project complexity and development goals.
  • Coach the team through complex technical and commercial problem-solving; review progress, identify blockers, and course-correct.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing, and structure the function to support rapid growth.

  • Have worked in high-growth technology environments, particularly those scaling from 500 to more than 5,000 employees.

About the company

Anthropic builds the Claude family of AI models and sells them to businesses, software developers, and consumers, with research on making AI safe and understandable at the center of its work. In 2024 it introduced the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside apps and data that OpenAI and Google adopted the next year. People use the Claude app to write and analyze files, programmers hand coding tasks to Claude Code, and companies build Claude into their own products through its API. Anthropic earns money from subscriptions, business plans, and usage-based API fees. Siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei founded Anthropic in 2021 with other former OpenAI employees, and it is based in San Francisco.

What believers are saying

  • Sales are multiplying: Anthropic's yearly revenue pace topped $65 billion in July 2026, over sevenfold since December 2025.
  • IPO plans advanced: October 2026 reports describe investor meetings and a mid-November listing target; staff shares face lockups.
  • Lower office minimum: 627 of 646 Anthropic job posts in October 2026 require at least 25% office time.

What critics are saying

  • Job security rides on growth: Anthropic's IPO prospectus lists $518 billion in cloud and computing bills due in coming years.
  • Defense work stays off-limits: in September 2026, appeals judges voted 2-1 to let the Pentagon keep blacklisting Anthropic.
  • Growth is priced in: Anthropic's valuation reached $965 billion in May 2026, up from $380 billion in February.

What makes Anthropic unique

  • Investors don't control its board alone: Anthropic's independent Long-Term Benefit Trust elects a growing number of directors.
  • It isn't tied to one chipmaker: Claude runs on Nvidia GPUs plus custom AI chips designed by Google and Amazon.
  • It holds back its riskiest model: Claude Mythos 5.1, launched September 2026, goes only to vetted cyberdefenders and life scientists.

Musk pledges SpaceX shares to every US child, a day after Anthropic's 5% fund

Elon Musk said on X on Monday that next year he would give every child in America one SpaceX share. He called the donations "the first of many." The post drew over 33 million views in a day. President Donald Trump thanked Musk for his "incredible generosity." No plan has emerged. Musk did not explain the pledge on SpaceX's Tuesday earnings call, where the company reported a 161% rise in revenue from a year earlier. He hinted the shares could go through the new "Trump Accounts" program, which CNBC said may limit when recipients can sell. The pledge came one day after rival Anthropic announced a "Public Benefit Fund" and plans to donate 5% of its shares to it. Musk suggested Anthropic give shares "directly to the public," then said four hours later, "This is what I will be doing.

Anthropic's S-1 reveals $750B cloud spend and capacity struggles with AWS, Google and Microsoft

Anthropic is struggling to secure enough cloud capacity from AWS, Google, and Microsoft, which increasingly see it as a competitor rather than a customer. That is according to an S-1 filing leaked to The Wall Street Journal. The filing says Anthropic believes it could spend more than $750 billion on cloud contracts, some still in negotiation. It is also leasing its own data centres and using third-party operators, but worries their "limited operating history" could make them less reliable than the big cloud providers. Anthropic posted an $80.7 billion net loss in the first half of the year on $16.3 billion in revenue. Two customers account for about a fifth of sales. The company told investors third-quarter revenue reached $16.8 billion, up 45% from the previous quarter. It is reportedly targeting a November IPO.

Anthropic's $80.7B first-half net loss shouldn't deter IPO investors, strategist says

Anthropic has disclosed about $80.7 billion in net losses for the first half of 2026 in a draft filing for an initial public offering (IPO), according to reports from the Wall Street Journal and Reuters. B. Riley Wealth chief market strategist Art Hogan says the losses are no surprise. Revenue growth has slowed a little, he said, while spending on infrastructure has not. Hogan expects Anthropic to stress its strong revenue growth and to aim to list before Thanksgiving. He said OpenAI is likely to follow next year, and that SpaceX will be watching the same pool of investors. Investors will watch whether revenue growth keeps outpacing computing costs.

Anthropic S1 reportedly shows $80.7B first-half loss and up to $750B in planned computing spend

Anthropic PBC lost $80.7 billion in the first half of this year and could spend $750 billion on additional computing power in the coming years, the Wall Street Journal reported. The newspaper said it obtained a copy of the company's S1 filing as Anthropic prepares to go public.

isolved Connector for Claude now covers full employee lifecycle, from pay checks to missed punches

isolved, a Workforce Capital Management company, has expanded its isolved Connector for Claude to cover the full employee lifecycle. Employees can now update contact information, get notifications, submit a missed punch, and manage timecard adjustments inside Claude. The connector launched in June. It lets employees check pay history, paystubs, time-off balances, and enrolled benefits without logging into a separate portal. Before any change is submitted, it shows what will change and asks for confirmation. Pay and benefits records are view-only. The company's 2026 HR Leaders Report found that 48% of HR leaders spend one to three hours a day answering repetitive employee questions, and 47% spend four hours or more. Next, isolved plans to add manager workflows, HR and administrator tools, and agentic experiences.
