Replica provides a data analytics platform for transportation and urban planning. It combines large datasets on auto and transit trips, freight, demographics, employment, and spending patterns with self-service simulation tools that let clients forecast travel behavior, ridership, and the impact of infrastructure changes. The platform enables users to generate walksheds, identify ridership pools, and test scenarios like road network changes or population growth, all in a subscription-based model. The goal is to help government agencies, urban planners, and transit authorities forecast demand more accurately and plan investments using detailed data and actionable simulations.

What believers are saying

  • June 2026 Safety Hub expands Replica into safety analytics, a larger budget category.
  • April 2025 AADT releases help states meet federal deadlines, creating recurring reporting demand.
  • Replica’s 2024 Series A and Arity strategic investment provide capital and market validation.

What critics are saying

  • Transportation agencies can switch to FHWA data pipelines, commoditizing Replica’s traffic-count advantage by 2026.
  • Safety Hub depends on Arity’s 50-million-driver feed; any partnership strain weakens product differentiation.
  • If public agencies reject synthetic mobility data, Replica loses procurement relevance and pricing power quickly.

What makes Replica unique

  • Replica and Arity launched Safety Hub in June 2026 for proactive roadway-risk detection.
  • Replica’s 2025 AADT model uses 2024 HPMS and 2025 counters, with FHWA-aligned reporting.
  • Replica combines mobility, demographic, land-use, and behavioral datasets into self-service planning workflows.

Replica and Arity launch Safety Hub to prevent roadway deaths with privacy-preserving data from 50M drivers

Replica and Arity have launched Safety Hub, a platform designed to help US transportation agencies prevent roadway deaths by identifying risks before crashes occur. The collaboration addresses a critical need, as nearly 40,000 people are killed on American roads annually. Safety Hub combines Arity's driving behaviour data from over 50 million active connections—roughly one in five US drivers—with Replica's pedestrian and cyclist movement data. The platform tracks dangerous behaviours including excessive speeding, hard braking and distracted driving, allowing agencies to identify high-risk areas and monitor changing conditions in real time. Unlike traditional crash data that lags 6 to 18 months, Safety Hub enables agencies to surface risks before they appear in crash reports. Arity has made a strategic investment in Replica to strengthen their partnership.

Replica Releases 2024 Traffic Count Estimates To Help States Save Time And Money

LEAWOOD, Kan., April 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Replica, a software company that provides more than a dozen datasets and a suite of tooling and applications that span mobility, demographics and land use, has released its 2024 Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) estimates. These traffic counts help state transportation departments meet federal reporting deadlines without burdensome high costs and time-consuming fieldwork. Helping States Meet Federal DeadlinesBy 2026, states must report key roadway data, including AADT, to the Federal Highway Administration for all public roads. Traditionally, gathering this data required expensive, labor-intensive field studies. Now, Replica provides a cost-effective solution using a composite of big data sources and statistical modeling, methods that FHWA recently approved for safety reporting
