About the job

Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience spanning AI go-to-market, applied AI or technical solutioning, management consulting, or strategic delivery in a Fortune 500 environment.
  • A track record of personally owning complex, multi-stakeholder go-to-market and deployment decisions with C-suite and senior executive partners; ownership rather than coordination.
  • Demonstrated fluency in agentic artificial intelligence, large language model-based systems, or applied AI builds, with enough technical depth to challenge scope, pressure-test architecture, and credibly engage customer and internal engineering leadership.
  • Experience designing and scaling commercial frameworks, capacity models, or strategic allocation constructs that have held up under chief financial officer and procurement scrutiny.
  • A history of managing portfolios or programs that have scaled beyond individual reach, including resource allocation decisions that moved the needle across a region or function.
  • The judgment to identify which deployment decision in the portfolio deserves attention in a given quarter, and the operating instinct to solve it without waiting for a directive.
Responsibilities
  • Own the global Forward Deployed Engineering portfolio and allocation strategy.
  • Work with regional leadership, Geo Presidents, and senior vice presidents and go-to-market leadership to calibrate where Forward Deployed Engineering can deliver the most impact on revenue, product signal, and customer reference value.
  • Run the investment thesis that positions the Forward Deployed Engineering team in high-conviction customer, product, and go-to-market opportunities.
  • Navigate competing priorities across regions, portfolios, and strategic accounts and make decisions that maximize team impact globally.
  • Approve Forward Deployed Engineering engagements only when tied to a clear strategic imperative or commercial outcome, such as a renewal, net-new annual contract value, or key product expansion.
  • Set approval criteria that meet chief financial officer scrutiny; lock scope, success criteria, and target outcomes before work starts; and track each engagement through to its result.
  • Measure renewals, net-new annual contract value, consumption, and expansion influenced per Forward Deployed Engineering week by engagement type, region, and industry.
  • Ensure each value case exceeds its cost to serve and use results to guide future deployment decisions, headcount scaling, or partner capacity extensions.
  • Compress the time from use-case identification to value definition, alignment to token consumption, and executive sign-off.
  • Build and scale a repeatable playbook that moves engagements from problem identification to approved investment with quantified outcomes more quickly and consistently across regions and industries.
  • Monitor what is and is not working in the portfolio.
  • Own emerging initiatives that define the next frontier for Forward Deployed Engineering, including agentic use cases, go-to-market motions, industry verticals, and platform capabilities.
  • Build scale paths that turn early wins into portfolio-wide capabilities; determine when initiatives are ready to scale, need more evidence, or should be archived.
  • Define and manage the partner motion that extends Forward Deployed Engineering reach, including vetting standards, engagement models, and guardrails for systems integrators and specialist partners doing adjacent work under Forward Deployed Engineering brand and quality standards.
  • Drive how Forward Deployed Engineering impact is communicated through board narratives, Financial Analyst Day, C-suite quarterly business reviews, and marquee customer references.
  • Own the narrative connecting deployment and build outcomes to stories that influence markets, analysts, and pipeline.
  • Monitor field signals and changing customer needs, shift internal priorities toward what is working, and pull back from what is not.
  • Identify high-leverage deployment decisions across the portfolio and solve them at an expert level amid ambiguity and rapid change.

ServiceNow's $7.75B Armis bet faces first test as it aims to be No. 1 in security

ServiceNow spent about $7.75 billion in cash on Armis as it aims to lead enterprise security. Chief executive officer Bill McDermott said on September 9 that the company is "now the eighth largest with an ambition to be #1." The company reports third-quarter results after the close on October 28, its first earnings since that claim. Investors will look for a disclosed security growth rate. BNP Paribas estimates security and risk could reach about $1.5 billion in annual contract value, growing 30% to 40%. ServiceNow has not confirmed this. Acquisitions are weighing on margins. Third-quarter guidance is an 8% GAAP operating margin against 31% non-GAAP. Revenue beat estimates in each of the last five quarters, yet the stock fell after the last three reports. Consensus expects revenue of about $4.09 billion, up about 20%.

ServiceNow CFO: Overwork doesn't make a better leader, recovery drives performance

ServiceNow president and chief financial officer Gina Mastantuono says overwork does not make a better leader. Speaking at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit, she said recovery is a prerequisite for high performance, not a distraction from it. She criticised the idea that 14-hour days and four hours of sleep show commitment. "That is such a terrible example for the people around us," she said. Prioritising recovery helped her listen more thoughtfully, stay composed under pressure, and improve her work-life balance. Fellow panellist Alicia Hatch of Deloitte said 94% of female C-suite executives played sports growing up. Deloitte projects global women's sports revenue will reach at least $3 billion in 2026, a 340% rise over four years.

Over 25% of S&P 500 stocks are down 40%+: four bargain tech picks, from Netflix to Oracle

More than 25% of S&P 500 stocks are down 40% or more from their highs, even with the index near record levels, as of October 8, 2026. The Motley Fool sees that as a chance to hunt for bargains in tech. It names four picks. Netflix trades at about 18.5 times 2027 analyst earnings estimates, and advertising should drive its growth. Oracle has a $664 billion backlog in cloud infrastructure, but carries heavy debt and burns cash. ServiceNow, hit by the 2026 software sell-off, trades at 7.5 times forward sales as it pushes into agentic AI. AppLovin trades at 13 times 2027 earnings estimates. Its revenue rose 53% last quarter to $1.9 billion.
