About the job

Requirements
  • A BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, with 0–3 years of professional experience; internships, co-ops, research, competition teams, or substantial personal projects count.
  • Solid grounding in analog and digital circuit design and power electronics basics, and schematic capture in a professional tool such as Altium; ability to read datasheets and justify component choices with numbers.
  • Working proficiency in C or C++ on microcontrollers, bare-metal or RTOS, familiarity with common peripherals and communication protocols, and Python for test automation and application-level work; comfort with Git and code review.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and bench power supplies, and comfort soldering and reworking boards.
  • Ability to investigate failures with a clear hypothesis, determine causes, and verify findings rather than relying on workarounds.
  • Interest in how electronics, firmware, and mechanics work together in a machine, and comfort working with engineers outside the discipline.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including documenting work and explaining findings so others can act on them.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-moving startup, and willingness to take on work outside the core role when required.
  • Ability to work from the New York City office five days per week.
Responsibilities
  • Support schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout review for motor drive, sensing, power, and control electronics; read datasheets, calculate and justify part choices, and help carry boards through fabrication and assembly.
  • Write, test, and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ on microcontroller platforms, including peripheral drivers, communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN), sensor integration, and device control; work within version-control, code-review, and release practices.
  • Bring up new hardware on the bench and debug across the electrical and firmware boundary using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and debuggers; solder, rework, and instrument test setups.
  • Build bench test setups, collect and analyze characterization data, report findings, and drive decisions using measured data and physics.
  • Support production test fixtures, design for testability, and electrical builds with the contract manufacturer and suppliers; help triage and find root causes of manufacturing and field issues.
  • Partner with Mechanical, Controls, Software, and Operations on motor selection, drivers, sensors, and system bring-up, and communicate findings to partners outside the discipline.
  • Produce schematics, bills of materials, wiring diagrams, test plans, and test reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with brushless motor control or motor drivers, sensor signal conditioning, PCB layout, or robotics projects.

Aescape launches Brady Protocol, a robotic 30-minute massage co-developed with Tom Brady, from $39

Aescape, the body intelligence company, launched the Brady Protocol on October 15, 2026, a 30-minute deep tissue session co-developed with seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. It is available now on every Aescape table. The session works the full posterior chain, from the calves through the traps. It uses Aescape's Adaptive Body Therapy, which combines robotics and physical AI to map each body and adapt to it. Users set the pressure and can pause or lower it at any time. A team of licensed therapists and trainers developed the protocol over the past year, with Brady involved from concept through testing. Sessions start at $39, with pricing varying by location. Brady is also an investor in and strategic partner of the company.
