About the Job

Requirements

  • A successfully completed degree in economics with a focus on controlling or finance, or a comparable qualification, and several years of solid professional experience in project controlling.
  • Substantial experience assessing complex contractual arrangements for accounting purposes and recognizing revenue under IFRS 15, particularly Dynamic / Percentage of Completion.
  • Substantial experience independently creating and maintaining complex Excel financial models for business cases, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
  • Very good user knowledge of SAP, particularly the CO and PS modules; practical user knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience working with public-sector clients and in the military or defense sector, with familiarity with their regulatory requirements, such as price audits/LSP, export control, and compliance.
  • Experience in the TUI (Technology, Environment, Industry) sector or comparable project-driven industries is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of comprehensive commercial project management covering revenue, costs, cash flow, and project risk and opportunity management.
  • Fluent spoken and written German and English.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong analytical and communication skills, and to act as a trusted peer-level sounding board for project leadership.
  • Awareness of potential compliance risks and commitment to acting with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform holistic project controlling and commercial management for assigned projects, covering revenue, costs, and cash flow, and advise project leadership to help ensure financial targets are met.
  • Carry out operational planning and forecasting, including accounting assessments of complex contractual arrangements in cooperation with central controlling.
  • Prepare estimates at completion and manage performance through well-founded variance analyses, proactively initiating and tracking corrective actions.
  • Support bid management by preparing business cases and shaping the commercial aspects of offers.
  • Actively manage project risks and opportunities and ensure compliance with contracts and export-control requirements.
  • Continuously improve and standardize controlling processes and tools.
